Amanda Bynes’ Conservatorship Decision Not Inspired By Britney Spears

Amanda Bynes’ Conservatorship Decision Not Inspired By Britney Spears

Just yesterday, news broke that Amanda Bynes had filed to end her conservatorship. Considering Britney Spears‘ recent battle to win her freedom back, its but natural that comparisons would arise between the two cases, and stars.

Not only is there a stark contrast between Bynes and Spears’ cases, but Bynes’ lawyer, David A. Esquibias has made it very clear – in no way was her decision inspired by Britney Spears.

Earlier this week, the “She’s The Man” actors filed to end her conservatorship after nine years, and the hearing is scheduled for March 22.

Unlike Spears’ case where her father James Parnell spears actively fought against ending the conservatorship, ultimately getting overruled by the judge and having made to step down, Bynes’ family is standing right by her.

Bynes was placed under conservatorship in 2013 after her behavior spiraled down from the strange to the bizarre and she was first temporarily committed to a psychiatric facility. Once released, she was placed under the car and conservatorship of her parents, namely her mother, Lynn.

In a statement made to TMZ, Bynes’ lawyer Esquibas said that within the last two years, both “Amanda and her parents realized the significant progress she’d made in coping with bipolar disorder.” Unlike the strife in Spears’ family, including the beef she shares with her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, Bynes seems to be getting along with her parents famously.

Bynes Conservatorship Never A Bone Of Contention

At her mother’s request, the 35-year-old “Easy A” star’s conservatorship has been extended several times, the most recent in September for another two years. But unlike Spears’ fight for freedom, Bynes has allegedly been working hard with her parents because ending the conservatorship has been a common goal for the family. According to various reports and her lawyer’s statement, Bynes has put in the best of her effort and work, into herself and her future to get to this stage.

Bynes also feels ashamed about her behavior, which saw her get arrested for multiple DUIs and hit and runs, and tweeting about how she wanted Drake to murder her vagina.

Bynes, speaking to Paper magazine did apologize for it all, saying, “I’m really ashamed and embarrassed with the things I said. I can’t turn back time but if I could, I would.”

Does she regret the face tattoos and the cheek piercings too?

Bynes was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and seems to have a handle on it now. She has also been sober for the past few years and attends AA regularly, to help her keep on a straight path.

‘Never Even Mentioned Britney’s Battle’

Britney Spears did not inspire Amanda Bynes to end conservatorshipMEGA

All in all, Bynes has her parents standing right behind, and beside her and she tried to end the conservatorship. But the move has not been inspired at all by Britney Spears. Esquibias continued to say, “Amanda’s move to pull the plug on her conservatorship is years in the making, starting long before the #FreeBritney movement grew vocal last year.”

The fact that Bynes has filed legal documents in court just months after Britney became free is nothing but a coincidence and Amanda never once mentioned Britney’s battle.

It seems Bynes is happy staying out of the limelight, unlike Britney who is enjoying her life to the fullest, even daring to appear in nude selfies on Instagram.
Bynes is allegedly doing well in her classes as she chases a Bachelor’s degree at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. She seems to be serious about shaping her future in fashion, and also wants to get into the fragrance industry. However, there has been no mention from Bynes about a return to acting.  Fans feel for her as well, one writing, “Please let Amanda Bynes be free… It would make her smile again, I miss that…” Another Instagram comment sent her love, “You’re gorgeous, imperfect, and learning to be better. Just like the rest of us. I grew up watching you on TV, you truly are an inspiration. I see your struggles and I see your improvement. The haters will never see the latter because they want something to complain about. Keep your head up baby.”
