Candace Cameron Bure, 46, is officially moving on from Hallmark as she officially announced her new Christmas movie with the Great American Family network.

MEGACandace Cameron Bure is best known for her role as D.J. Tanner on the family sitcom “Full House” (1987-1995) and the reboot “Fuller House” (2016-2020). She starred alongside the late Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladston), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (Michelle Tanner), all of whom reprised their roles in “Fuller House” except for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
The “Full House” actress left the sitcom behind when it ended in 1995 and went on to become a face of Hallmark — specifically with her roles in Hallmark’s “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries” franchise and annual Christmas movies. However, after 14 years, the 46-year-old made the decision to leave Hallmark and joined the Great American Family network.
Other well-known Hallmark leads, such as Jessica Lowndes, Trevor Donovan and Jen Lilley, have also recently left Hallmark for the Great American Family network within the last year.
Candace Cameron Bure Joins the Great American Family Network
MEGAAnd today, Tuesday, September 13, Candance Cameron Bure announced her first project since leaving Hallmark — “A Christmas … Present” — which will premiere in November as part of the Great American Family’s “Great American Christmas” lineup.
“A Christmas … Present is about slowing down enough to recognize what’s right in front of our eyes,” Candace Cameron Bure said in a statement announcing the movie, according to US Magazine. “The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season will arrive before we know it but it’s through the quiet moments that we hear God speak to us, directing our path to what’s most important.”
The upcoming Great American Family film will star Candace Cameron Bure as Maggie Larson, who is described as an “overly scheduled” real estate agent and mom who decides to spend Christmas with his widowed brother and his daughter.
While staying with her family, Larson becomes busy and must relearn “the reason for the season.”

Candance Cameron Bure is also producing the project alongside Jeffery Brooks, Ford Englerth and Gerald Webb on behalf of Candy Rock Entertainment. Brad Krevoy, Eric Jarboe, Amanda Phillips, Amy Krell, Lorenzo Nardini, Susie Belzberg Krevoy, and Jimmy Townsend are executive producers.
Michael Shepard and Bradley M. Goodman are supervising producers and Marlisa Fruehauf is associate producing. The film will be directed by Lesley Demetriades and written by Rick Garman.

The Great American Christmas is the network’s holiday programming event and will kick off on October 21. Original holiday movies will premiere on the network every Saturday and Sunday.
