Courteney Cox Revealed She Doesn’t Recall Several Episodes Of ‘Friends’

Friends” ended nearly two decades ago and starred A-list actors like Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and several others. The 90s show was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. It aired its first episode on NBC in 1994 and went on to release ten seasons.

The much-loved show hosted its reunion last year with the six lead characters in attendance. The actors met with a number of celebrities who made cameos in the original series and even acted out some sitcom episodes.

In a recent interview, Cox, who played Monica Geller in the series, revealed that she didn’t remember most of her time on set. This is apparently because she had a “bad memory” and was prone to forgetting things. Cox ended up not being able to answer some questions in the show’s reunion.

The 90s series “Friends” was extremely popular and aired for ten seasons before it ended in 2004. The sitcom followed a friend group who lived in Manhattan and their reckless decisions that only made their lives even more complicated.

In an interview with Today, the actress revealed that she didn’t have a lot of memories of the show. Apparently, this posed a problem in the show’s reunion because Cox couldn’t answer many questions.

She told Willie Geist, “I see it on TV sometimes, and I stop and go, ‘Oh my God, I don’t remember this at all. That is so funny. I should’ve watched all 10 seasons because when I did the reunion and was asked questions, I was like, ‘I don’t remember being there.”

Concerning why she doesn’t remember most of her time on set, it doesn’t have anything to do with having a bad relationship with her castmates or on-set drama. Cox revealed that she couldn’t remember some things because her memory wasn’t as good as it used to be.

The “Scream” actress revealed, “That was because I just have a bad memory. It’s really basic. I don’t remember any trauma in my childhood, but I have like three memories. I don’t know. I don’t know why.”

Cox also talked about the lack of pictures with the “Friends” cast and said she wasn’t happy that they didn’t take more pictures together. “I’m kinda bummed that we didn’t spend more time taking pictures. Because I don’t have a lot to look back at,” the actress said.

Besides Cox, another “Friends” cast member had issues recalling some parts of the filming. In a BBC Radio 2 interview, Matthew Perry, who played Chandler, revealed that he couldn’t pick a favorite episode because he didn’t remember all of it. He said he couldn’t remember most of the episodes between seasons three and six. This can be linked to the actor’s alcohol and drug problem, which he eventually resolved in 2011.

Cox Recalled Conversation With ‘Friends’ Director

In her interview, Cox mentioned one incident where “Friends” director, James “Jim” Burrows, took everyone in the cast to Las Vegas in 1994, before the series premiered. She said the director gave them some money and told them that it could be their last time freely walking through a casino.

“He gave us all $500 [€381]. And said, ‘I want you to take care, like, really take notice of this moment because it will be the last time all six of you together can walk through a casino,'” Cox said. “And we were like, ‘Really?’ And it was true. We could never do that [again].”

The actress added that while she didn’t think they were the Beatles famous, there would still be some reaction if the six of them were to walk down a street. She said, “I mean, I don’t want to sound like, ‘Look at us.’ We’re not, you know, the Beatles. But people feel like they know you. If we were all to walk down the street, six of us, it would be, I think it would be really interesting to people.”

Cox Played Monica Geller In ‘Friends’

In the popular sitcom, Cox played the role of Monica Geller, a meticulous neatness obsessed chef. The character was Ross’s little sister, who fell in love with his best friend, Chandler. At the end of the series, Monica married Chandler and had twins.

Her character also had one of the most famous and admirable friendships in sitcom history with Phoebe and Rachel. Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston played the two characters, and they are all still friends in real life.

Other actors in the sitcom include Perry, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc. The cast returned to the original set of the sitcom last year for a reunion hosted by James Corden. The show aired on May 27 and had the actors meeting with celebrity guests of the original series, re-enacting some episodes and sharing behind-the-scenes clips.
