Alec Baldwin’s wife is speaking out in the aftermath of the actor’s fatal on set shooting.
Last week, tragedy struck the set of “Rust” in New Mexico after a prop gun was fired and fatally killed the director of photography and injured the director.
Halyna Hutchins was shot and killed on Thursday, October 21st after the prop gun, which was said to be unloaded, went off.

Director Joel Souza was injured from the gun, but later released from a hospital.
The shooting occurred when Baldwin pulled the trigger on a gun that he was told was unloaded, according to a search warrant executed by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office.
Baldwin issued a statement on Twitter on Friday saying, “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”

His wife, Hilaria Baldwin, has broken her silence as well on Instagram.
In a post published on Monday, October 25, she wrote, “My heart is with Halyna and her husband, Her son. Their family and loved ones. And my Alec. It’s said, ‘There are no words,’ because it’s impossible to express the shock and heartache of such a tragic accident. Heartbreak. Loss. Support.”
Actress Melanie Griffith responded to her post writing, “Sending love to all. Holding you all in my heart. ♥️.”
Former ‘Today’ host Katie Couric commented, “Holding Halyna, her family and Alec and his family in our hearts.”
Rosie O’Donnell sent her love and support while Melody McCloskey wrote, “Sending love to all involved. Such a tragic accident ❤️.”
Many others have come to the “30 Rock” actor’s defense including his daughter, Ireland Baldwin.
Last Thursday, Ireland took to her IG Story and wrote, “My love and support go to Halnya Hutchins’ family and friends. Sending healing thoughts to Joel Souza. And wishing I could hug my dad extra tight today.”
