In 1996, Madonna graced Bowie’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, during which she revealed her father didn’t permit her to go to a Bowie concert when she was 15.

She claimed that her father was trying to protect her from the horrible people he believed would be at the concert. Nevertheless, she snuck out of the house with her best friend to attend the show.

At the time, the budding singer wore a pretty scary costume of a long silk cape and large platform shoes. She admitted that she didn’t know who was scarier between themselves and the driver who picked them up.

Getting to their seats at the venue, Cobo Arena, was pretty hard for the duo as the place was overcrowded, so they had to fight their way to their seats.

The “Vogue” singer recalled that even though she couldn’t breathe for two hours, that was the best show she had ever seen.

She further added that Bowie’s music was great, but the performance was more outstanding. His willful act and beautiful persona changed the life of 15-year-old Madonna.

Her father wasn’t so delighted as his daughter when she went back home; he grounded her throughout the summer as he knew she sneaked out to go to the concert. Bowie’s inspiration was definitely meant a lot to her as she said:

“It was worth every minute that I sat and suffered in my house that summer. So, I would just like to thank you, David Bowie…for inspiring me.”

As reported by Cheatsheet, since the death of the English superstar in 2016, Madonna has honored the legend in several ways, including her cover of “Rebel Rebel.” The recording is currently on her YouTube channel.

During the recording, she talked about Bowie’s impact on accepting those with different sexualities; just like the lyrics of “Rebel Rebel” showed that dressing in a masculine or feminine way didn’t matter.

Another tribute she made to the late singer was her revelation to Rolling Stone in 2016. She commended Bowie’s lyrics and revealed she had his pictures hanging all over her house.

The “Queen Of Pop” Reveals The Secret Behind Her Success

Since her fame began in the 80s, Madonna still remains unmatched, even though she has had many copycats.

Being as successful as the multi-faceted artiste currently is required a lot of work and dedication. She has been known to be very principled when it comes to working.

The Blast previously shared that Madonna was once a cheerleader and later became a scholarship dance student with the Alvin Alley American Dance theater, but she dropped out.

She has also worked as a waitress at Dunkin’ Donuts and had two bands, namely “Breakfast Club” and “Emmy.”

Her acting career began with the Broadway play “Speed-the-Plow,” where she was cast as the secretary. She has been cast in 19 films and won several awards for her talent.

The 63-year-old influential celebrity revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that the secret behind her success was regular rehearsals. In her words:

“I rehearse, and I rehearse, and I rehearse, so when I do the show, it’s effortless, and I create magic.”

In another interview with Billboard, her stylist, Arianne Philips, described Madonna as the hardest-working person on every set who had a strong point of view.

The “Like A Virgin” Singer Has A Soft Spot For Britney Spears

Last November, The Blast reported that Madonna made a public confession about kissing Britney Spears. The “Material Girl” singer said it was the most memorable moment of her career.

The kiss happened back in 2003 during MTV’s Video Music Awards, and apparently, she confessed after being asked about the most memorable moments in her career.

Both pop stars have been friends for a while and share a lot in common. The Michigan native always had a soft spot for Spears, which influenced her involvement in the 40-year-old’s conservatorship.

She publicly fought for the princess of pop’s freedom and showed determination in punishing those in the wrong, despite Spears being a free woman now.
