Meghan Markle hires Kim Kardashian’s former bodyguard amid coronation

Meghan Markle is amping up her security detail with the help of one of Kim Kardashian’s former bodyguards.

Markle was spotted with the mystery minder, who reportedly worked for Kardashian in 2016, while hiking in Los Angeles over the weekend. Meanwhile, her husband, Prince Harry, was across the pond at King Charles III’s coronation.

Another of the reality TV star’s former bodyguards, Steve Stanulis, claimed to The Sun that Markle might have hired the highly sought-after security for “clout.”

“These are guys who come from a small pool of elite bodyguards, from either police or military backgrounds,” he told the outlet. “Usually if a guy is good enough to work for high-profile stars, it’s not unusual for them to be sought-after.”

“Not only for protection, but also for clout. It looks good,” he added.

Yet it appears the mystery minder wasn’t the only thing protecting Markle, 41, on her hike.

The former actress, who skipped out on the coronation weekend to “protect her peace,” was spotted wearing a new necklace while embarking on the trial.

The Maya Brenner Clarity Retreat Necklace, which was designed in collaboration with her friend and former “Suits” co-star Abigail Spencer, was literally designed “to protect your peace” and “to help you see your way through any challenges.”

Armed with her new necklace and bodyguard, it looks like Markle is ready to become a “power player” in Hollywood.

The new hire comes shortly after the couple fired Michael Jackson’s former bodyguard, Alberto Alvarez, over alleged drunk driving convictions.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have employed several different personal bodyguards ever since losing their publicly funded UK police protection in 2020 amid their exit from the royal family.
