‘Missing: Dead Or Alive’ Renewed For Season 2 By Netflix

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has renewed Missing: Dead or Alive, the show that follows officers from the South Carolina sheriff’s department seeking people who have disappeared under troubling circumstances.

The true crime doc series hit the streamer’s Global Top 10 lists in almost 20 countries when it aired earlier this year, spending two weeks towards the top of both the UK and U.S.

Season 2 is gearing up for another four episodes worth of production in South Carolina later this year, we understand, and will continue to be produced by UK indie Blast! Films.

One episode in Season 1 saw an Iraq War veteran questioned after police found concerning details about him in his mother’s home, who had gone missing. In another, a man’s truck was found abandoned on the side of the interstate but his phone and a $10,000 winning lottery ticket are nowhere to be seen.

Although filmed in the U.S., Missing is one of numerous Netflix shows that come out of the streamer’s UK hub. At the Edinburgh TV Festival, the streamer unveiled a doc about Albert Einstein’s relationship with Hitler and the bomb from BBC Studios along with a John Boyega-narrated World War 2 doc series from Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story indie 72 Films.

Blast! Films mostly makes shows for British broadcasters such as BAFTA-winning Channel 4 series Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain and Sky’s Dublin Narcos.
