Sharon Stone moans that it’s ‘expensive to be famous’ despite $40M net worth: You pick up the tab ‘every single time’

Sharon Stone — who has a reported net worth of $40 million — whined about the price of being rich and famous.

“You go out to dinner, and there’s 15 people at the table, and who gets the check? You get the $3,000 dinner check every single time,” Stone complained in an interview with InStyle published Tuesday.

The “Basic Instinct” actress, 65, further moaned that it’s “very expensive to be famous.”

Some of her costs include her newly purchased home, as well as the fees for her security staff, publicists, makeup artists and managers.

However, the movie star is anything but stingy when it comes to getting ahead in Hollywood.

“You go out to dinner, and there’s 15 people at the table, and who gets the check? You get the $3,000 dinner check every single time,” she told InStyle. Eric Michael Roy/InStyle The “Casino” actress said it’s “expensive to be famous.” Eric Michael Roy/InStyle

In her 2021 memoir, “The Beauty of Living Twice,” Stone revealed she had given a large portion of her paycheck to Leonardo DiCaprio just so he could be in the 1995 film, “The Quick and the Dead.”

“He was a superstar,” Stone told InStyle of DiCaprio, who had just starred in his Oscar-nominated breakthrough role in “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.”

“I wanted to be in a great movie, not a stupid movie, so I got the best people to surround me that I possibly could,” Stone explained.

When a producer couldn’t understand her decision to fork up some of her profits just to have DiCaprio in the 1995 Western, she told him, “I get this isn’t man-think. But concentric thinking is how women think.”

“Leo was a kid,” Stone said, noting that DiCaprio, who turned 18 on set, probably had no idea of the salary arrangement until she wrote about it in her book.

DiCaprio, now 49, spoke about Stone’s kindness after her memoir was out, telling E! News in November 2023, “It’s incredible. She’s been a huge champion of cinema and giving other actors opportunities, so I’m very thankful.”

The “Killers of the Flower Moon” actor added, “I’ve thanked her many times. I don’t know if I sent her an actual, physical thank-you gift, but I cannot thank her enough.”
