Prince Harry Reveals He Wants To Patch Things Up With His Father King Charles III And Brother Prince William

Weeks after releasing his “Harry & Meghan” Netflix docuseries, Prince Harry has admitted that he wants to reconcile with his estranged family. The Royal released the six-episode documentary in two parts; the first was on December 8, and the next, December 15.

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, went into detail about a number of things in the documentary, including their private life and the constant barrage by the British media. The Duke of Sussex also spoke about his brother, Prince William, claiming that he screamed at him during a family meeting.

After the Netflix documentary release, Harry and Meghan were noticeably absent from the Christmas party hosted by Princess Kate Middleton, indicating that all was not quite right with the royal family. Harry said as much in a recent interview, stating that despite his efforts to reconcile, the family seems to be paying him no mind.

According to Page Six, Prince Harry is trying, quite futilely, to reconcile with his family. The Royal joined ITV 1 in a recent interview, and in a preview of the yet unreleased conversation, he claimed that his attempts to get across to his brother, Prince William, and father, King Charles III, haven’t been successful.

The Duke of Sussex said, “They’ve shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile. I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back.”

Harry further stated that instead of the “institution” he was given, he preferred a family. He also claimed that the royal family felt much differently about him and Markle, his wife. He said, “They feel as though it’s better to keep us, somehow, as the villains.”

Prince Harry Accused The Royal Family Of ‘Institutional Gaslighting’

In episode six of “Harry & Meghan,” the Duke revealed that he knew he would never get an apology from his family, and he has already come to terms with that. “I’ve had to make peace with the fact that we’re probably never going to get genuine accountability or a genuine apology,” the father of two said. “My wife and I, we’re moving on. We’re focused on what’s coming next.”

Harry also claimed that while preparing to leave the royal family and during the aftermath of the said decision, he and his wife had experienced “institutional gaslighting” from the family. “Everything that’s happened to us was always going to happen to us. Because if you speak truth to power, that’s how they respond.”

Markle also claimed that she was used as a “scapegoat” by the family, and her stories were used as tabloid “real estate.” A friend alleged that “They would feed stories on her, whether they were true or not, to avoid other less favorable stories being printed.”

Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” is set to hit the market on January 10, and while several parties can’t wait to get their hands on it, previous reports claim that the royal family felt some apprehension about it. The Duke of Sussex is starting his press tour for the book and is slated to appear in “60 Minutes” with Anderson Cooper for an interview.

The memoir release comes after “Harry & Meghan” aired on Netflix and will detail Harry’s life as a part of the royal family and outside. News broke of the book in July 2021, and the release date was initially set for November 2022. It was, however, pushed back after Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8.

According to Tom Bower, the author of “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors,” Harry’s book would have a chapter solely dedicated to the late monarch’s funeral.

“And there’ll just be more material about how they were snubbed and all the rest of the invective against the royal family,” Bower said to Page Six. “So I think to that extent, the delay will add to the poison.”

‘Spare’ Is A ‘Ticking Time Bomb’

Bower further revealed that the royal family saw Harry’s memoir as a “ticking time bomb” and was “hugely nervous” about its release. The Royal biographer claimed that Harry had tried to make changes to the book after his grandmother passed.

The Royal had reportedly attempted to “take out or downplay” comments about his father, King Charles III, and the Queen Consort, Camilla, as well as his brother Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton.

“I think that everybody knows that the Sussexes can’t amend the book in any way. Can they make it nastier? Because otherwise, we wouldn’t get sales,” the author said.
