Raven-Symoné says everyone she’s dated had to sign an NDA: ‘It’s very impersonal’

Those who’ve dated Raven-Symoné have gone through their fair share of legal paperwork.

The “That’s So Raven” star revealed that everyone she was romantically involved with has had to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) before entering a relationship.

Speaking on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast last week, the 37-year-old recalled her experience in the dating world before settling down with wife Miranda Pearman-Maday.

“All of my relationships, especially – obviously – when I started dating, I had to get people to sign NDAs,” she told Mandel.

“It took me a while to wrap my head around it because it’s very impersonal, but someone in our position needs to do that.”

Mandel then asked when exactly she served her dates with papers, to which the actress responded, “Before the naughty times come.”

“No, I’m serious — right before naughty time comes,” she quipped. “Welcome to being a celebrity in Hollywood nowadays.”

“It’s true though nowadays, hashtags, real life, they change the dynamic of having an intimate relationship with somebody,” she added.

Recalling the time she was gearing up the courage to ask her now-wife to sign the papers, Raven-Symoné said it wasn’t until two months into their romance that she finally took the plunge.

“We were in New York. We were in this outdoor French type of restaurant, and my mom had been bugging me,” she shared. “She was like, ‘You got to get it signed. I’m like, ‘She’s from the industry.’ And my mom was bugging me.”

“I was really reluctant because I knew something was different about Miranda,” she added.

The actress said Miranda felt the same.

“She’s like, ‘I don’t understand’ because she knew that we had something different like it just feels different right,” she said.

Despite her reluctance, her now-wife signed on the dotted line because she understood that “The Cheetah Girls” star “was being pushed elsewhere and [Pearman-Maday] understood.”

“We both were like, ‘This takes away the genuineness of it all, but we also understood that we live in Hollywood.’ She knows who she is. So she did it,” she added.

The pair tied the knot in 2020, and even got matching tattoos to commemorate the occasion.

“Miranda, she talks differently,” the actress said of her lady. “She asks me questions like I’ve never been asked before but then has wonderful conversation to go with it after — no judgment. She has her own flaws that she’s allowing me to help her with and vice versa.”
