Filmmaker Rian Johnson has finally revealed the name of the “Knives Out” sequel which will hit Netflix later this year.
As Deadline reported, the cast includes Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Jessica Henwick, and Madelyn Cline. The 2019 original grossed $165.3 million dollars at the domestic box office and over $311 million dollars overseas.
Deadline reported that Netflix secured the rights to two more movies in a deal that was estimated to be around $400 million dollars, one of the biggest in the streaming service’s long history.

On Monday morning, “The Last Jedi” director teased the name of his latest murder mystery by talking about the movie’s origins.
“Something I love about Agatha Christie is how she never tread water creatively,” he wrote. “I think there’s a misperception that her books use the same formula over and over, but fans know the opposite is true.”
It wasn’t just settings or murder methods, she was constantly stretching the genre conceptually. Under the umbrella of the whodunnit she wrote spy thrillers, proto-slasher horrors, serial killer hunts, gothic romances, psychological character studies, glam travelogues.

It’s a good day for fans of “Knives Out,” but it might not be a great day for Star Wars fans, as it seems that his proposed trilogy might be on hold while he completes his “Knives Out” commitments to Netflix.
Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Trilogy Is On Hold… Indefinitely
MEGAIn a new interview with Vanity Fair, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said that Rian Johnson was “unbelievably busy” with other projects. Although the trilogy was first announced in 2017, it doesn’t look like there has been any work made on the trilogy since that time.
“Rian has been unbelievably busy with Knives Out and the deal that he made at Netflix for multiple movies,” Kennedy told the publication.
MEGAKennedy then seemed to cast doubt on the possibility of a trilogy happening at all and hinted at exploring “much more persistent storytelling” through their various Disney+ series.
Although “The Rise of Skywalker” received a lackluster reception to close out the nine-episode Skywalker Saga, “The Mandalorian” proved to be a success for the fledgling Disney+ and several new shows have been produced as a result: “The Book of Boba Fett,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” “Ahsoka,” “Andor,” “The Acolyte,” and the canceled “Rangers of the New Republic.”
Johnson has yet to comment on what is to come of his Star Wars trilogy since Kathleen Kennedy’s comments last month.
