Shakira Is Dating British Actor Lucien Laviscount But Her Friends Allegedly Fear He’s A ‘Rebound’

Pop star Shakira has reportedly begun a romance with British actor Lucien Laviscount after she fell for him on the set of her new music video.

Laviscount played Shakira's love interest in the video and managed to steal her heart away afterward, but her friends are not so optimistic about the pair's romance. A source shared their fears about the actor being a "rebound" and breaking Shakira's heart as she is "desperate to fall in love."

Following her split from football star Gerard Pique, the "Waka Waka" crooner has hit the love scene again, and she is now dating "Emily In Paris" star Laviscount.

The pair sparked dating rumors after their steamy display on the set of her "Punteria" music video, where a topless Laviscount caressed the Colombian singer's cheek.

Shakira could be seen wrapped in the actor's arms, while another scene showed a topless Lucien lying across her lap with nothing but a loin cloth covering his body as she dabs blood from his chest after shooting him with an arrow.

A source with insider information confirmed to the Daily Mail that they are "seeing each other" but are not "heavily involved yet."

Days after the video was released, the pair were pictured enjoying dinner at the Italian restaurant Carbone in New York City. She was dressed in a black corset and a leather jacket, while Laviscount complemented her in all black.

According to the news outlet, the source also disclosed that friends of the 47-year-old singer are not so happy and satisfied about her new romance with the actor as they fear he's only a "rebound" and would break her heart.

"Shakira is desperate to fall in love – but her friends are concerned because Lucien has slowly crept his way up the celebrity ladder while dating women who were all less famous than Shakira," the tipster told the Daily Mail.

"The women he has been with are all very different. Now he is seeing Shakira - and she wants love," the source went on. "But her friends fear he just wants people to know his name, and she provides that."

The "Hips Don't Lie" hitmaker is allegedly not yet over her footballer ex-partner Gerard Pique.

Shakira and Pique were together for 11 years until their split in the summer of 2022 after reports surfaced that he was unfaithful.

According to the Daily Mail's source, she is still "not over her ex," and everyone around her "knows that Lucien is a rebound."

"She is dating someone who they fear is a player and she is going to get burned," they added.

Shakira and Piqué both share sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine. The former FC Barcelona star has since moved on with 26-year-old Clara Chia Marti.

The singer recently opened up about putting her career on hold to focus on building a family with her ex-partner, Pique.

According to the "La Totura" hitmaker, she channeled the pain she felt from that period in her life into her new album, "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran."

"There were so many pieces of my life that crumbled in front of my eyes and I had to rebuild myself in a way, picking up the bones from the floor and putting them all together," Shakira told The SundayTimes. "And the glue that kept it all together was music."

She added, "For a long time I put my career on hold, to be next to Gerard, so he could play football. There was a lot of sacrifice for love."

Last year, during an interview with Billboard, Shakira recounted how dedicated she was to Pique before their relationship fell apart.

She discussed the challenges she faced regarding her career while living in Barcelona with Piqué. The singer admitted that her dedication to family and the Spanish soccer player made it difficult to focus on her music profession.

"Well, the thing is, I was dedicated to him. To the family, to him," she told the publication. "It was very difficult for me to attend to my professional career while in Barcelona."

Since their split, she has released several songs, one of which was a diss track directed at Pique, and now has a new album out. Her last studio album was released in 2017.
