Taylor Swift’s ex Matty Healy gushes over typewriters and ‘being in love’ with pop stars in resurfaced clip

A resurfaced clip showed Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend Matty Healy gushing over his love of typewriters and “being in love” with pop stars amid the release of her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

In a GQ interview from 2018, the 1975 frontman revealed that his notebook was one of the 10 things he couldn’t live without.

“Why would you need a notebook if you got a phone, right? It could do the same thing. It’s kind of a fair point,” he said.

While holding up a black journal that read, “Dirty Hit,” on the front, he continued, “It’s not like there is any kind of romance to having a notebook, but I really like typewriters as well. I don’t have one with me because that is really impractical.”

“And the thing is with typewriters and writing with pen to paper is kind of an element of commitment that goes with the ceremony of it,” he continued.

“Therefore it requires you to concentrate a bit better. So I think it’s important to have a book. It’s mainly stories that I write about my dreams of being in love with other pop stars.”

The resurfaced clip left Swfties in a frenzy, as several of her fans believed the “Lover” songstress, 34, seemingly bashed Healy, 35, and his use of typewriters in her latest album, which was released Friday.

In the album’s titled track, Swift alluded to Helly, singing, “You left your typewriter at my apartment / Straight from the Tortured Poets Department / I think some things I never say / Like, ‘Who uses typewriters anyway?'”

The 14-Grammy winner, who briefly dated Healy from May to June 2023, also seemingly referenced her ex in the tracks “But Daddy I Love Him” and “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can),” hinting at people warning her about dating the rockstar.

In “The Smallest Man” track, Swift also seemingly wrote about his struggle with substance abuse, singing about someone who tried to “buy some pills from a friend of friends” of hers.

She also sent a message to an unknown person who “needed drugs more” than they needed her in the song “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus.”

While Healy has yet to speak up about the album, his aunt rushed to his defense, arguing there is so much more to the story than Swift is letting on.

“Nothing surprises him any more,” Debbie Dedes told the Daily Mail on Saturday. “He will not be surprised by the song. Him and her know what went on.”

“As my nephew, we know a bit more about what went on than has been in the press,” she continued.

Dedes added the “About You” singer is “very happy” with his current girlfriend, Gabbriette Bechtel, whom he went public with in September 2023.

Aside from Healy, Swift also appeared to have several songs dedicated to her ex Joe Alwyn on the album following their April 2023 split.

The billionaire pop star also made several sports references to her relationship with her current beau, Travis Kelce.
