Some of the hosts on The View are sharing their thoughts on former co-host Meghan McCain’s claims in her new Audiobook, “Bad Republican.” Whoopi Goldberg and Sara Haines had their own thoughts on their former co-host’s “toxic” work environment claims.

More Pressing Matters
Goldberg mostly shrugged off the accusations that McCain made against the people working on the show including herself and her co-hosts. When asked by the cameraperson what she thought of McCain “trashing The View”, she answered by saying “nothing” and brushed off the author’s accusations.
When they pushed Goldberg for a better answer, the former actress said a simple “alright” still not satisfied, they pushed again, “any feelings?” clearly annoyed, Goldberg shut the matter down a final time.
She pointed out that she is focused on getting her “leg and hip right” and made it clear, “I don’t have time to think about anybody else but myself.” Just to clarify, he asked Goldberg if McCain was “person non grata there now”. According to Goldberg, That’s left up to the “big dogs”.
‘I Love This Place’
Haines seemed confused about the line of questioning but that could be because she as bombarded as soon as she stepped out. They asked the host if what McCain did was “upsetting”, she replied diplomatically, “everybody’s got their own trip and experience,” she admitted.
As for her friendship with her former co-host, Haines said “she jus doesn’t work here anymore” indicating that this was the only change they have experienced. And all this alleged “toxic” work environment talk, she claims she hasn’t experienced that.
“I love this place, it’s been very good to me,” she assured. If McCain felt a level of toxicity, Haines didn’t echo that sentiment.
Awkward AF
Instagram/meghanmccainThe line of questioning from the cameraperson was awkward but what was more awkward was the accusations made against the hosts of the popular daytime talk show. McCain basically trashed the women in her book.
The Blast covered some of the shocking accusations made mostly against Goldberg and Joy Behar. “As the country got worse under Trump, the treatment from Whoopi, Joy, and some of the staff grew meaner and less forgiving,” she claimed.
She also detailed feeling like a punching bag on set. “It was as if I had become an avatar for everything they hated about the president.” McCain also claimed that Goldberg wasn’t discrete about her hate for her. “I found her open disdain for me more and more difficult to manage as the years went on and it became more frequent.’
It Is What It Is
Meghan McCain / InstagramWhile Goldberg and Haines seem unphased by losing a cast member and being accused of adding to the toxicity in the workplace, Behar hasn’t said anything. The normally opinionated host is yet to share her point of view on the audiobook.
However, her silence can be taken for what is exactly on her mind… nothing. Chances are, like Goldberg, she too has shrugged it off.
