Top 50 Most Viewed YouTube Channels Worldwide • Week Of 09/13/2021

International TV channels continue to rule the roost in our global top 50.

In particular, the digital hubs associated with Indian TV networks are thriving, with two of them crossing the 500 million view barrier. Read on to learn which other channels approached those heights this week.

Chart Toppers

SET India continues to set the pace in our ranking of the most-watched YouTube channels in the world. The South Asian channel, which is associated with a TV station of the same name, received 665.8 million weekly views in our latest measurement, which was the highest total in the world over that period. The Sony-owned hub is also closing in on 100 billion lifetime views, a milestone it should achieve before the end of the year.

There are only two channels in this week’s global chart that already have 100 billion lifetime views, and one of them is T-Series, which claimed the #2 spot in this week’s worldwide ranking. The Indian record label, which delights its audience with music videos and movie clips, picked up 547.5 million weekly views in our latest count. That total left it sandwiched between two Sony-owned Indian channels: SET India is above it, and Sony SAB is directly below it in third place. The latter channel, which is best known for offering comedy programming, tallied 529.7 million weekly views during the second week of September.

The #4 channel in this week’s global chart is also the highest-ranking hub that doesn’t hail from India. LankyBox has emerged as a regular presence at the top of our global top 50 and our U.S. top 50 thanks to its combination of short-form and long-form content. This time out, hosts Justin and Adam used their collection of mostly gaming content to snag 452 million weekly views, which allowed their channel to rise above all other American hubs.

Julius Dein rounds out this week’s global top five. The British TikTok star, who has been able to branch out to YouTube thanks in part to the popularity of YouTube Shorts, picked up 439.9 million weekly views in our latest count. That total represented a week-over-week traffic increase of 78%, and it propelled Dein to his highest-yet position in these charts.

For the second week in a row, we’re using this space to shine a spotlight on a channel from Indonesia.

As the world’s fourth-most populous nation, the Southeast Asian archipelago has plenty of YouTube viewers, and that audience is now delivering a significant amount of traffic to short-form videos. This week, there are two Indonesian channels in our global top 50, and they both release content on the YouTube Shorts platform.

The 40th-ranked channel in this week’s global top 50 is Dunia Robot, which has been active on YouTube for fewer than nine months. In that time, however, it has pulled in 790.4 million views, and 158.4 million of those views came in the last seven days alone.

As you can imagine, that rapid growth has been fueled by YouTube Shorts, where Dunia Robot receives the lion’s share of its viewership. On the micro-video platform, the Indonesian channel stages special effects-laden showdowns, like what you’d imagine if the Avengers showed up in Jakarta. Some of these superhero-style clips boast view counts that soar into nine digits.

During our most recent measurement period, these fun little clips helped Dunia Robot register a view count that is three-and-a-half larger than what the channel pulled in during the week prior. Its home country is becoming a YouTube hotbed, so look to see more Indonesian channels in the top 50 — assuming the island nation isn’t completely destroyed by the time Dunia Robot is done with it.
