Only three of the top 20 channels in this week’s chart hail from a country other than those two. The U.S. is the most represented country in that top 20, but the #1 channel in the world hails from India.

Chart Toppers

T-Series has spent the entire month of November as the #1 channel in our Global Top 50. The Indian record label rounded out its unblemished month on YouTube by picking up 762.9 million weekly views. Though the 11th month is now over, T-Series’ salad days are not. Next week, the channel is projected to become the first YouTube channel with at least 200 million subscribers.

For the second straight week, Like Nastya was the highest-ranking U.S.-based channel in our Global Top 50 and the second-highest ranking channel overall. The family vlog retained its runner-up status by counting 597 million weekly views. That’s a lot of people tuning in to watch the titular seven-year-old star play with her toys and go on adventures.

Another family channel reached the #3 position in this week’s Global Top 50. Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes, an animation hub based in the U.S., continued its stellar performance on YouTube by netting 558 million weekly views. Though that was 4% less traffic than Cocomelon’s previous seven-day total, the channel moved up one spot in our worldwide ranking.

Aside from T-Series, the other South Asian channel to crack this week’s global top five is SET India. With its arsenal of TV clips, which also air on a terrestrial TV station of the same name, the Sony-owned hub scooped up 541.9 million weekly views. That total was good enough to push SET India to fourth place in our latest chart.

The channel rounding out this week’s global top five is Funny Family. The YouTube Shorts channel — which has Chinese characters in its name that translate to “Changsha family” — registered 381.2 million weekly views over our most-recent seven-day measurement period.

Top Gainers

Judging by how much they watch videos featuring special effects, YouTube Shorts viewers clearly love action. It’s not easy to pack exciting thrills into a one-minute (or less) video, but creators find novel ways to give the people what they want.

Let’s look at Mingweirocks. The Singaporean hub is the only channel from the Southeast Asian city-state to factor into our Global Top 50 this year. How did the channel’s host (Ming Wei, presumably) accomplish that feat? By stealing food from his girlfriend and then going on a mad dash to replace it.

I’m simplifying, but many of the top videos on Mingweirocks feature this exact conceit. In the channel’s second-most watched clip of all-time, the titular character races down the street, climbs up a building, and picks a lock just to get one of his girlfriend’s peanut M&Ms. I mean, if I was ever going to transform myself into an action hero to chase down a chocolately Mars snack, I wouldn’t settle for anything less than a Crispy M&M.

This hyper-kinetic video style is working out quite well for Mingweirocks. The channel had 113.8 million weekly views during the most-recent seven-day period measured for us by Gospel Stats. That was twice as many views as what the channel had received the week prior (and then some!) Thanks to its big upward move, Mingweirocks became the 38th-most viewed YouTube channel in the world. With that traffic, Ming Wei can afford plenty of M&Ms.
