Nick Cannon Remembers Late Son In Family Photo: ‘Missing My Little Dude’

Nick Cannon penned a touching tribute to his late son!

The entertainer got emotional on Instagram as he shared a never-before-seen family picture, in which four of his children posed together with his deceased son, Zen.

The twins Moroccan and Monroe, the “Wild’ N Out” host’s children with ex-wife Mariah Carey, were captured with the twins Zion and Zillion, who the TV personality shares with Abby De La Rosa.

Nick Cannon Remembers Baby Zen One Month After His Death

On Saturday, January 22, “The Nick Cannon Show” host paid tribute to his seventh child and late 5-month-old son with a heartfelt post.

In the image, the father-of-seven was seen in a pink sweatsuit and a white nose mask while sitting in between his older children, twins Moroccan and Monroe.

The 41-year-old cradled his late son Zen and one of his twin babies (either Zion or Zillion) on both arms while his daughter held the other twin in her arms.

The older siblings took safety precautions by donning colorful nose masks as they posed next to the babies. Although this was a tender moment, the reason Cannon shared this picture wasn’t sweet.

The family portrait was uploaded to commemorate the first month of Zen’s tragic passing, which the TV personality affectionately described as the family’s “Angel.” The grieving father wrote:

“Still missing my little dude… His Spirit and brightness were soo strong #ZensLight. ‘To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.’ 2Corinthians 5:8 The whole family, We ALL miss you, young King! Forever Our Angel!”

As shared by ET, the “Gigolo” singer’s 7th son, who he had with the model Alyssa Scott, took his final breath in December 2021 after losing a difficult battle against brain cancer.

At the time, Scott got candid about grief on her Instagram stories by uploading a picture of the onesie Zen never got to wear for his first Christmas alongside a poignant message.

The grief-stricken mother revealed that she was at a stage where she didn’t know what to do with Zen’s items. In her words:

“Maybe you close the door to the nursery. Maybe you leave it open. Maybe you have boxed some things away — maybe you still fold and put them in the drawers. This is where I’m at.”

Scott confessed that she kept clothes with her late son’s lingering scent, but the heartbroken mother stated that she wouldn’t force herself to move on despite the growing pile of personal items.

The “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” Star Was Against Zen’s Chemotherapy

Last December, The Blast reported that “The Masked Singer” host and Scott didn’t want Zen to undergo chemotherapy treatment for his health condition.

When their son was two months old, the poor baby was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain cancer known as glioma.

Rather than allow their son to suffer through intense chemotherapy during his short life span, the parents decided it was best to enable Zen to live as happily as possible.

As someone who previously went through chemotherapy to treat Lupus, Cannon explained that neither he nor Scott wanted to put their son through that pain at a young age.

However, Zen, unfortunately, died at the tender age of five months. Regarding his demise, the “My Rib” singer confessed that his heart was “shattered” as he wanted to spend more time with his son.

The “Drumline” Star Honored His Late Son’s Memory With A Tattoo

Last year, The Blast revealed that the “Real Husbands of Hollywood” alum didn’t skip work to grieve; instead, he openly shared his pain with fans.

Following the announcement of Zen’s untimely death on “The Nick Cannon Show,” the TV presenter informed viewers that he had gotten a tattoo in honor of his late son.

In addition to getting the sentimental artwork, the doting father framed a picture of the ink drawing, which captured Zen with a halo above his head.

This tattoo also served as a part of Cannon’s grieving process as the entertainer explained that the process of engraving his son’s face on his ribs was a painful experience.

Despite the hardships he faced, the 41-year-old stated that he enjoyed the experience because Zen would remain a constant figure by his side.
