Rebecca Romijn Felt She Didn’t Look Good Enough For Ex-Husband John Stamos

“Star Trek” actress Rebecca Romijn and her husband Jerry O’Connell recently got candid about their marriage in an interview. The actress was previously married to John Stamos four years after their 1994 meeting before the duo divorced in 2005.

Following the divorce, Romijn revealed that she felt depressed at the time. It was also around the time she met O’Connell. After being nudged to approach her by Romijn’s friend, the duo got married in 2007 and had twin daughters.

The actress and her husband appeared on an interview and talked about how they met and Romijn’s seemingly fond memories of her ex-husband. She revealed that she recently saw the actor, but made no move to exchange pleasantries because she thought she didn’t look ready.

Romijn And O’Connell Dated Before Her Divorce Was Finalized

Romijn and her husband O’Connell recently bared it all in a conversation on “The Talk.” During the tough conversation, the actress talked about how she met her husband in the middle of her previous divorce with Stamos and her current feelings for said divorced husband.

On the Thursday episode, the duo revealed that they started dating when Rebecca wasn’t legally divorced from Stamos. The actress was reportedly “bummed about” the divorce at the time and fell into depression following her separation from Stamos.

According to O’Connell, Romijn was on a date when they first met, and the actress’s friend coerced him into getting her number. She recalled, “My friend said, ‘get her number.’ And you said, ‘she’s on a date.’ And she said, ‘I hate that guy. Get her number.'”

Romijn Said She Misses ‘A Lot Of Things’ About Stamos

Recalling her divorce, Romijn described the experience as “terrible” and “awful.” The actress said, “Going through a divorce is terrible, it’s awful. I was with him for 10 years. Divorce feels like a failure and there were a lot of things that I had to let go of that were very sad.”

The couple also talked about Romijn’s relationship with her ex-husband and how she occasionally talked about the previous marriage. O’Connell said, “When I’m with you personally, and I hear you talk about your ex husband, it sounds like it was fun. You always have really fun memories.”

The actress agreed, adding that she had several “fond memories” with Stamos. “A lot of things about him that I miss. But yeah, it’s tricky. It’s a very hard decision to come to when you decide to end a marriage. It was heartbreaking,” she said.

Romijn Could Recognize A Completely Covered Up Stamos

When Romijn was asked the last time she saw Stamos, the actress revealed that it was just a few weeks ago. That was apparently the first time she saw him since the duo finalized their divorce in 2005, and she recognized him immediately. Romijn was with her daughters at the time.

She recalled, “I saw him just a few weeks ago, first time since we split up. I had the girls in the car. We were sitting in after-school traffic at a strip mall, and I saw him. There he was, walking right in front of the car. Cap pulled down. Sunglasses on. I went, ‘There he is girls!'”

Her daughters, Dolly Rebecca Rose O’Connell and Charlie Tamara Tulip O’Connell, apparently asked her how she was able to recognize Stamos who was very much covered up. Romijn replied, “Girls, because I was with him for 10 years. I would recognize that gait from a block away. I recognize the way his body moves. I know that walk. I’m familiar with his body.”

Romijn Said She Didn’t Look ‘Good’ Enough To Meet Him

Upon hearing the story, O’Connell asked Romijn why she didn’t say hi to Stamos. The actress revealed that she didn’t think she looked ready for the meeting, so she opted out.

“I didn’t think my hair looked good,” Romijn quipped. O’Connell then asked if she would have preferred a “blowout” before the meeting. She replied, “Yes, is that too much to ask? I don’t know. I certainly wouldn’t want you there. That would be his worst nightmare.”

O’Connell then said, “We’re all friends, come on,” confirming that they were all on good terms. Since the split, Stamos also moved on and, by 2018, tied the knot with actress Caitlin McHugh after they met in 2011. The duo has a three-year-old son named Billy.
