Prince Harry could barely hide his joy early Tuesday as he landed in Canada ready to start his new life free from royal duties.
The 35-year-old Duke of Sussex beamed as he was filmed by Sky News stepping off a jet and into a waiting car in Vancouver Island at 12:47 p.m. New York time.
His smile matched that shown by the duchess as she was pictured looking care-free as she walked her dogs in a local park earlier that day, with Archie in a baby carrier.

They had not been together for 11 days, with Meghan having fled to Canada soon after their stunning announcement that they were quitting the royal family.
Harry remained in the UK, sitting with his family for a historic summit that ultimately led to Saturday’s announcement by the Queen that her grandson and his wife would no longer be referred to by their royal titles after they formally step away from duties in the spring.
Before leaving Monday, Harry was photographed with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the pair then having a private, 20-minute heart-to-heart, according to The Sun.
Harry then skipped an evening reception for African leaders — instead helmed by his brother, Prince William — to catch a British Airways flight to Vancouver connecting with a light plane to the nearby island, The Sun said.
Two royal protection officers — still paid for by British taxpayers — joined him on the journey, and three more officers greeted his 15-minute West Jet turbo prop hop, the paper said.
A three-car convoy then took him to be reunited with his family at the private mega-mansion just a 10-minute drive away, the paper said.
Harry is expected to return to the UK for other formal engagements before his new royal-free life fully takes over in the spring, but his wife is expected to stay in Canada, the paper said.
