Academy Award-winning filmmaker Quentin Tarantino (“The Hateful Eight,” “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “Pulp Fiction”) looks to be prepping his last movie as a filmmaker. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tarantino is readying what is said to be the “final” film of his career.
Tarantino has reportedly already written a script for the film, titled “The Movie Critic,” and he’s expected to direct the film starting in the fall.

Story details on the feature are currently kept secret. However, the story is reportedly set in late 1970s Los Angeles, and it will feature a female lead.
THR notes that the setting and title of the story suggest the film could follow the story of real-life film critic Pauline Kael, who passed away in 2001. Besides her work as a film critic, Kael was also a prolific writer and novelist. She was notorious for some of her bitter fights with both editors and filmmakers in Hollywood. Additionally, there was a period in the late 1970s when she worked as a consultant for Paramount Pictures at the request of actor Warren Beatty. Tarantino has an established deep respect for Kael, and the setting appears to line up with a movie about her or inspired by her life.
