Rachel Zegler Apologizes To Britney Spears For Making Fun Of Feud With Jamie Lynn

“West Side Story” actress, Rachel Zegler, is issuing a big apology to Britney Spears.

The actress recently made negative headlines for doing a dramatic reading of Britney’s tweets to Jamie Lynn Spears.

In the since deleted video uploaded to Twitter over the weekend, Zegler stares into the camera and recites the singer’s tweet aimed at her younger sister.

“Jamie Lynn, congrats babe! You’ve stooped to a whole new level of low. I’ve never been around you ever with a knife or would I ever even think to do such!!! The only knife I ever saw you with at home was cutting the biggest pieces of squash I ever saw in my life and it was way too big for me to cut. So please, please stop with these crazy lies for the Hollywood books. Now and only now I do know a scum person would make up such things about someone,” she said.

The knife claim is something Jamie Lynn wrote about in her new memoir, “Things I Should Have Said,” as well as during her ABC interview with Juju Chang.

Jamie Lynn added about the incident, “I was scared. That was a moment I had. I also was fearful to really say anything because I didn’t want to upset anybody, but I also was so upset that she didn’t feel safe.”

Fans of Zegler were quick to come to Britney’s defense, and explain to the actress that her dramatic reading was tone deaf and upsetting.

On Monday, January 18, Zegler took to Twitter to apologize.

She wrote, “Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Britney and am rooting for her always. While I meant no disrespect whatsoever, I should have thought about how this could be perceived, and I’m so sorry for upsetting or disappointing anyone. This is not a situation to be taken lightly, and we should all be lifting Britney up in this pivotal time. Thanks for hearing me out, and a big thank you to all who held me accountable.”

Fans were happy to see Zegler owning up to her mistake and issuing an apology.

One person replied, “It was unfortunate but not the end of the world. Being a very young woman who is also an overnight success and also very active on social media, must be tricky so the expectation shouldn’t be perfection, it should be a learning curve. As long as you learn, you will be fine.”

Another person responded to Zegler writing, “It’s a lesson learned. It was a mistake but it’s not worth the hate train that came for you. They were waiting in joy of you messing up, them tails were wagging. Moving forward keep in mind that everything you do or don’t do will be used against you by the haters. Love you.”

“Thanks for acknowledging and apologizing for your mistake Rachel :),” another fan commented.

Britney vehemently denies ever chasing her younger sister around with a knife or even holding a knife in an aggressive way around her.

The “Baby One More Time” singer took to Twitter on January 14 to retaliate.

This then pushed Jamie Lynn to respond to Britney and an all-out war of words ensued. It’s gotten so bad that #FreeBritney fans are begging the pop stars to stop airing their dirty laundry.

Britney Fans Want The Jamie Lynn Drama To STOP!

“Noooooooooo you are better than this…” another fan commented. “you two are sisters my heart is broken for you both.”

“You and your family need to keep your drama behind closed doors,” another fan wrote. “STOP blaming one another and all of you GROW up! We will not live forever to say I am sorry to one another for this hate.”
