‘RHOA’s Kenya Moore Talks Divorce Proceedings With Marc Daly

The recent times have not been too blissful for “RHOA” star Kenya Moore as she is still in the course of divorcing her estranged husband, Marc Daly.

The television personality tied the knot with Marc in June 2017, and they welcomed their only daughter Brooklyn Daly the following year.

After about four years of marriage, Moore filed for divorce, and currently, the divorce proceedings are still ongoing, but she looked forward to its conclusion.

According to PEOPLE, the former Miss USA had a conversation with Andy Cohen on a recent episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” where she opened up about the status of her divorce.

She felt like the proceedings had been going on for years, and she could not wait for it to be over. She also revealed that the delay was from her ex-spouse’s end.

Cohen said he was “sorry to hear” she was still going through the ordeal, and the actress agreed by jokingly saying, “I’m sorry to hear that too. Get me free! Get me free!”

It should be noted that the former couple’s split last year would not be their first, as their initial breakup came less than a year after their marriage in 2017.

At the time, the separation was brief, and they reunited in February 2020. However, their reunion was short-lived as they had their final breakup last year.

During the period Moore filed for divorce, the court documents, as was reported by the outlet, showed that she and her former partner had been dwelling in a “bonafide state of separation” since September 2019.

The papers also showed that she sought full legal and physical custody of their three-year-old daughter Brooklyn. On the other hand, Marc filed his court documents last June seeking joint legal custody of their child.

Speaking of little Brooklyn, the “The Celebrity Apprentice” star previously told the news outlet how her child’s name came to be.

She said she and her then-husband chose the little one’s first name “because that’s where we met and fell in love,” while the three-year-old’s middle name Doris was chosen after Moore’s grandmother.

The talented producer’s recent discussion with Cohen will not be the first time on “WWHL” she talked about her divorce, as she previously addressed the subject on the show last March.

At the time, she told the show’s presenter that she and Marc “still have love” for each other in the course of the separation.

The celebrity further explained, “Emotions are really high, Andy, and I’ve never been through a divorce. I’ve never had a separation. I’ve never had a child with anyone, so all of these things are new for me.”

Despite the circumstance of the pair’s relationship, Moore knew she had to focus on the well-being of her only child as that was her sole priority.

She said, “I had to do what was best for Brooklyn for right now because I am her primary custodial parent.”

Not only did the successful entrepreneur make changes in her marital status, but she also planned to become a brand new person in the latest season of “RHOA.”

The Blast recently reported that Moore joined the “RHOA” show in its fifth season and became widely known in no time for her clashes with some of her fellow housewives.

It seems she got tired of being the antagonist as she spoke candidly about wanting to be a better person on the program ahead of its 14th season.

Speaking with ET, the star revealed that she was fed up with playing a role that was not her true nature as she believed she was unfairly attached to the “villain role.” In her words:

“I think I was just pegged into that villain role really early on, and I just couldn’t get out of it. Sort of leaned into it in my own way.”

She added saying, “And then it was just like, ‘OK, this is old, because now this isn’t who I am, and I despise the fact that I’m even perceived that way.”

The “Waiting To Exhale” actress promised fans a surprising reveal in the upcoming season in addition to a view of her new “fantastic” side.

She also hinted that her divorce boosted her confidence as the new season was about reclaiming who she was before the end of her marriage.
