Sam Asghari gets ‘flirty’ at fancy gala while ex Britney Spears visited by cops after ‘knives’ dance

Britney Spears’ estranged hubby, Sam Asghari, was “flirty” with women at a swanky event in Los Angeles, a source told Page Six, on the same day Spears was getting a wellness check from police for dancing with knives on Instagram.

A spy tells us that newly single Asghari was “mingling with women” at Wednesday’s VIP Night Before Dinner ahead of the Zodiac Ball to benefit the Children’s Oncology Support Fund.

“He seemed flirty,” said a witness. “He was very social, on the prowl.”

We hear the event is “dominated by female donors,” and was full of “very wealthy women,” who gathered from New York and LA, plus Aspen, Colo., and Newport, Rhode Island.

We’re told that many of the well-heeled philanthropists plunked down as much as $20,000 for a table.

“It was a feeding frenzy for a single guy,” said the source.

Asghari was a hit, we hear, at the party. Our spy tells us many of the women were saying, “He is so great, he is amazing,” they said.

One woman who didn’t want to be as close, however, was apparently Spears’ sibling, Jamie Lynn Spears.

We hear the “Dancing with the Stars” contestant was supposed to attend, but opted out when she learned Asghari would be at the same event.

A source added that the move was meant to avoid a “media frenzy,” adding that paparazzi “have been stalking Sam’s every move.”

We’re told Asghari did not want any photos taken at the event.

Spears raised concerns this week when she posted a video of herself dancing with knives. Britney Spears/Instagram

The evening took place at Boa Steakhouse in West Hollywood, Calif., and was sponsored by Balmain. Kid Kamillion played a DJ set.

Gigi and Bella Hadid’s dad, Mohamed, was also spotted at the dinner doing caviar bumps with his younger girlfriend, Keni Silva.

Also on Wednesday, cops visited Spears’ home to perform a wellness check after someone who knows her called the Los Angeles Police Department’s Systemwide Mental Assessment Response Team with concerns over a video she posted on Instagram dancing with knives.

An officer spoke with the singer’s security, and determined she was fine. Cops also reportedly spoke with Spears’ attorney.

“There’s no criminal activity so we’re not going to force ourselves inside the home if there is no crime,” Captain Dean Worthy of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office told Page Six. “Being a danger to oneself isn’t a crime. I think we did our due diligence by going and responding and speaking to two people who are close with her who satisfactorily told us she’s fine.”

Spears addressed the incident in another knife-wielding dancing video she shared on Instagram Thursday night.

“I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA,” she wrote.

“These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police. I’m trying to imitate one of my favorite performers Shakira … a performance I was inspired by !!!” she added, referencing Shakira’s MTV VMAs performance earlier this month.

In another clip of Spears dancing that was shared on Instagram, the pop star had a white bandage wrapped around her arm. She also had what looked to be a cut on her thigh. But she updated her post to say, “Don’t worry they are NOT real knives!!!”

Ashgari was also expected at the Zodiac Gala on Thursday, along with guests including Ashlee Simpson-Ross and Evan Ross, Brooke Burke, Kathy Hilton, Sofia Vergara and model Winnie Harlow.

Chaired by filmmaker Thomas Pierce, the “celestial surrealism”-themed benefit at the Houdini estate featured DJ Ruckus.

Page Six reported that Asghari, 29, left Spears, 41, last month after just one year of marriage.
