Scheana Shay’s fiancé explains why he hasn’t spoken to his kids in 4 years

Scheana Shay and Brock Davies are starting to build a future together, but not before he answers some burning questions about his past.

Shay, 36, and Davies, 31, admitted to Lala Kent and Randall Emmett in Tuesday’s episode of “Vanderpump Rules” that the Australia native has not seen his two older children, Eli and Winter, since he moved to America and broke up with their mother four years prior.

He noted that he hasn’t even gotten a chance to FaceTime the kids since he “shook [his] whole family up.”

Later in the conversation, Davies acknowledged that he “felt like a badder husband” to his ex-wife, whose identity has not been revealed, because he felt like he “did abandon” their kids.

“I felt like I needed to like accept it because I was the one who moved to America, you know. I moved over here,” he said.

In a confessional, Davies explained through tears that the last time he saw his children, he dropped them off at Denver airport and “got a photo saying goodbye to them both.”

Shay tried to defend her fiancé, saying in her own confessional that “there’s a lot more to” the story than people know.

“No contact, but it’s not for lack of trying,” she later added. “He moved to America to provide a better life for his family.”

Davies noted that he “was very young” when he got married and was only 20 years old when his son was born.

“I was a different person, you know?” he said.

The rugby played said he left his ex five years ago, adding in a confessional, “Me and my ex, we had two beautiful kids. We split up and she felt like I abandoned her and the kids by coming to America. She moved on with the kids’ stepdad, who then fulfilled the role of being a dad for my kids.”

The “Good as Gold” singer then revealed that Winter shares a birthday with her and Davies’ daughter, Summer, who was born on April 26.

After getting engaged in July, Shay and Davies told Page Six that they want to tie the knot in Bali, where they “fell in love” in late 2019.

It does not appear that they will be a happy co-parenting family after their nuptials, however, as Shay revealed in Tuesday’s episode that Davies’ ex-wife was angry that they named their daughter Summer.

She claimed the ex felt that the moniker was “replacing” Winter, but Shay insisted that she has wanted to name her daughter Summer since she was 16.

Davies previously opened up about his children to Page Six, telling us, “Those are my kids, and their life was private, and they didn’t decide to date Scheana. I did.

“I had to step up to the plate, know I have a past, and if I could change it, I would,” he continued. “But at the same time, we’re here, and I got to make sure I do the right things going forward, and you guys will see all that unfold.”

“Vanderpump Rules” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
