Shanna Moakler Takes Trip Down Memory Lane Ahead Of Miss Teen USA

Shanna Moakler is reminiscing on her glory days!

The model recounted a very special time in her life when she was younger. Although she started off her career as a competitive roller skater, she went into the world of pageants and beauty as early as she was 15.

She won the Miss New York USA in 1995 and placed first runner-up at the central Miss USA in the same year. With the annual pageantry in the news recently, it is expected that she would remember her days as a beauty queen.

The former “Playboy” magazine model took fans down memory lane to 31 years ago with a recent post of her standing on the stage representing Rhode Island. In the photo, the former pageant queen stood beside Dick Clark, and the caption read:

“In honor of @missteenusa, I thought I would post this throwback when I was @missriteenusa with the great Dick Clark.” She added that he was terrific and that it was an honor to have been interviewed by him while she was just a 16-year-old.

Moakler’s post comes on the heels of the pageantry ceremony just a few days away, which was announced on their official Instagram page of the 40th Annual Miss USA. The picture holds details about the venue, which would be at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, and codes for those who want to book rooms.

The show, which is produced by The Miss Brand Corporation, under the leadership of Crystle Stewart, chose to use the Grand Sierra for her 40th in order to honor the late Cheslie Kryst’s memory and keep her legacy alive.

Fans would recall that the 2019 Miss USA winner and beauty queen turned lawyer passed away at the age of 30 after committing suicide. Miss USA organizers shared ways they planned to honor the late star in future pageants.

Stewart, the Miss USA Organization President, told E! that in 2019, she had the honor and privilege of judging the Miss USA pageant at the Grand Sierra Resort and Spa in Reno “and crowning former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst.”

Adding that they felt to honor her memory and legacy, this year’s event would be held in the same place; she was also crowned. While this is excellent news to the people of Reno, one person, in particular, is fully supportive of the decision.

Elle Smith, Miss USA 2021, was one of the late lawyer’s closest friends who was deeply hurt by her passing. She mentioned that Kryst was an inspiration to her as she competed in beauty pageants and was honored by the organization’s decision to hold the pageant in its chosen location. She added:

“I watched her historic win that night and was inspired to start my pageant journey. Although our hearts are still hurting, I find comfort knowing I can pass down this crown and play homage to beautiful Cheslie.”

Born with distinctive features in Rhode Island to John W. Moakler III and Gail Moakler in 1975, the former “Meet The Barkers” star grew to be famous for her beauty and fit body. The Blast recently shared that she shared a throwback picture of herself as a child with her mother in an Instagram story

The 47-year-old shared the picture of herself on a tricycle, which had gotten brown with age. At the same time, her mother held on to her and the toy to monitor her movement. Baby Shanna gripped the handlebars of the bear-shaped toy with her mouth wide open, possibly as an expression of the fun she was having.

The “Bridalplasty” host captioned the heartwarming post “Me with my mom” while adding a laughing emoji creating an atmosphere of humor. Her choice of emoji would indicate that she may have found the picture amusing.
