Sherri Shepherd Reflects On Her Time With Barbara Walters

The two TV personalities grew close during their time together on the morning talk-show. Shepherd admits that she felt so “connected” to her while working on “The View.”

In a new E! News interview, the “Sherri” show host said, “For me, I connected with Barbara’s sense of humor. I think that not enough people really got to see what a bawdy sense of humor Barbara had.”

She noted that Walters’ commanding tone made her “shake in my boots.”

“When she would tell me — not ask, tell me — we are going to go to dinner, I would shake in my boots because I was just like, ‘What did I do now? And why do we need to go to dinner?’” Shepherd admitted.

Sherri Revealed Barbara Had A Wicked Sense Of Humor

However, once they got to whatever restaurant/eatery they were going to, it was like Walters became Shepherd’s mother.

“But when we would get to the restaurant, she was like a queen when she was ordering things,” she continued. “But then we would talk, it was like, literally, she was my mom.”

Barbara Walters, legendary news anchor and creator of “The View” and host on the “Today” show has died at age 93MEGA

Once the drinks started flowing, Walters’ commanding presence softened and Shepherd revealed they’d often “talk and laugh” about their most memorable times having sex.

And this may come as a shock to some, but Shepherd admitted Walters had some great tips and tricks.

Walters Gave Great Sex Advice

“Literally, we could talk about sex all day long,” she confessed. “She had advice for days.”

Following Walters’ death, Shepherd remembered her dear friend in a lengthy tribute on social media.

“So… so many things I could say about Barbara Walters. Barbara was tough on me, but she was tough on those she loved. Barbara gave me a chance to grow. She encouraged me (no… she TOLD me) to speak up or be left behind,” Shepherd wrote in a December 30th post. “She told me to never take No for an answer. Barbara constantly loved on my son Jeffrey (kids were not allowed in her dressing room, but Jeffrey was always welcome & he made her smile). Whenever Barbara came into my dressing room and imperiously said ‘Sherri I want to have dinner with you,’, I quaked in my 6” stilletos wondering what trouble I was in this time.”

Shepherd concluded her tribute writing, “Thank you Barbara for giving a shy girl who didn’t like to debate a seven year chance of a lifetime. You believing in me has changed my life. Thank you for allowing me to find my voice and encouraging me to fly. You were my Teacher, my Mother and my Friend. I love you Lady❤️.”

Walters’ official cause of death is unknown, but she had been in declining health for several years.

She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her death in her New York home.
