Sweeney recalled being avoided as a teenager for developing breasts faster than girls her age. The “White Lotus” actress said to The Sun, “I had boobs before other girls, and I felt ostracized for it.” The 25-year-old still gets criticized for her body, and the backlash reminds her of how embarrassed she felt as a teen.

Sweeney said, “You have a character that goes through the scrutiny of being a sexualized person at school and then an audience that does the same thing.” For example, she recalled seeing screenshots of her nude scenes circulating the internet after her role in “Euphoria.”

The star always feels the need to correct assumptions and stereotypes about her because of her body type. She is used to people assuming she is dumb and has no talent. “I have big boobs, I’m blond and that’s all I have,” Sweeney said of the misconceptions.

Sweeney pointed out that women were more criticized than their male colleagues in the industry for having nude scenes. Describing the stigma to The Independent, she said, “When a guy has a sex scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and gets praise. But the moment a girl does it, it’s completely different.”

The actress herself is a victim of this, as she receives more “love” and “attention” for her role in “The White Lotus” than in “Euphoria,” where she had nude scenes. Sweeney said, “I think it’s ridiculous. I’m an artist, I play characters. It makes me want to play characters that piss people off more.”

Amid criticism from viewers, Sweeney is proud of her performance in the HBO show. The star who plays Cassie on the teen drama series said, “I’m very proud of my work in “Euphoria.” In reference to the stigma actresses tend to face, she added, “I thought it was a great performance. But no one talks about it because I got naked.”

The actress, who forgot that she had several nude scenes on the show, felt more comfortable after they joked that she had “the best tits in Hollywood.” Although Sweeney struggles with being confident about her body, internet trolls make things worse for her.

She once called out online trolls and bullies for body shaming her. In the 2021 clip, Sweeney noted how “f**ked up” it was for people to comment negatively on her body. She said, “People need to be nicer on social media.”

Sweeney recalled spending most of her teenage years chasing her dream of becoming an actress. She narrated the ups and downs of the journey to British GQ last month. The “Voyeurs” star revealed that a casting director once told her that she would never make it in the industry.

There were other roadblocks on her path to success as she grew up in a financially struggling family. The star recalled saying goodbye to her childhood home and living in motels due to their condition. The Sweeneys later moved to LA, where the actress rose to fame.

Sweeney is set to star in upcoming films like the psychological horror film “Immaculate,” and “Barbarella.” She will be introduced into the Sony Spider-Man Universe with her role in the 2024 film, “Madame Web.”
