In another of Hollywood's brave efforts to top perfection, news has emerged that Warner Bros is to reboot one of the most iconic films of the 1980s - The Lost Boys.

The original 1987 critical and commercial success centred upon two brothers who move to Californian beach town and discover that the area is a haven for vampires, headed up by the remorseless, mullet rocking David (Kiefer Sutherland).
Directed by costume designer turned filmmaker Joel Schumacher (who would go onto direct Flatliners, Falling Down and two Batman movies), The Lost Boys is well-loved for a number of reasons, serving as a sort of time capsule for the '80s.
First of all, there is its cast of young stars of the time, including Sutherland, Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Alex Winter, Corey Feldman and Jami Gertz, all decked out in the fashion of the era.
On top of that, there is its killer soundtrack featuring the likes of INXS and Echo & the Bunnymen which also now cements its '80's vibe.
Also noteworthy about the original is that it's often credited as helping shift cultural depictions of vampires by making them young.
Due to people's fondness for the '80s horror, news of Warner Bros' upcoming reboot is likely to be met with some skepticism.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new take on the property will feature young stars of today Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place, The Undoing) and Jaeden Martell (Defending Jacob, It)

Meanwhile, Randy McKinnon is said to be writing the project, with Jonathan Entwistle (The End of the F***ing World) set to direct it.
The Hollywood Reporter says the reboot has been described as being set in the modern-day.
