Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer have been co-parenting since 2016. But Meyers is now sharing the inner workings of their co-parenting relationship and how hard it was to get to where they are today.

Even though the couple officially split up in 2016, no one wanted to pull the trigger on the divorce until 2020 when Meyer woman up and decided it was time. Officially divorcing wasn’t the problem it was how they worked out parenting. it’s “a lot of work,” she claimed on World First Podcast.
She admits they struggled with severe things. “Stay[ing] on track to stay a family” was their priority for their children Ruby, 15, and Otis, 13. “It was a choice, and it was trusting in, like, the universe has got our back,” she notes. “But let me tell you something, the work is a motherf–ker.”

She even calls her breakup “beautiful” in fact it’s the “most beautiful experience” of her life. The couple has evolved to new heights. Some may say it’s reminiscent of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martins “conscious uncoupling” (it’s worth mentioning she is friend with the actress *hard eye roll*). They even hang out with one another significant others.

MEGA“Now we talk about our significant others [like], ‘Hey, you got the kids? I’m going for a weekend away,’” Meyer shared with the hosts Sara Foster and Gabby Bernstein. “Now it’s like … ‘Hey, I’m having a hard day’ or ‘Hey, you did this, it really bummed me out.’”
The two call one another great friends and it makes sense they have known each other since the early 2000s. They wed in 2007 where Meyers made the statement that she would “do anything” for her new husband. Now their relationship has evolved into something more like siblings…

MEGAThe jewelry designer’s relationship with her ex-husband has changed and it’s far from relationship status. “I can’t even explain [it],” she said of their bond. “He is my brother. I love him to death.”
Their relationship status doesn’t even matter because their “first priority” is their kids who are now teenagers. They are moving forward with the plan they set out in their initial release after their divorce announcement, “with enduring love, respect, and friendship.” Ultimately, the mom of two’s goal is to avoid making her kids “unhappy”.
What keeps this non-couple on track is, “remember that you love your kids equally more than anything in the world and that you want the best for them.”
