Amal Clooney is bringing back jeans and a going-out top.
The human rights attorney looked casual for a rare public appearance, stepping out for a mother-daughter dinner in New York City Wednesday in a crystal top and high-waisted jeans.
Clooney, 44, was photographed outside her hotel with mother Baria Alamuddin as they headed to dinner at 4 Charles Prime Rib in the West Village.
The high-profile lawyer wore a black cropped blazer over her sparkling bubble-hem top featuring rows of glittering crystals, pairing the outfit with silver Gianvito Rossi heels ($681), a Giambattista Valli purse ($2,212) and dazzling drop earrings.
As for her mother, she looked just as festive rocking a purple trouser suit with black beaded detail and an equally flamboyant white fur coat with cropped sleeves.
Clooney’s denim look is a departure from her usual buttoned-up outfits, but she went classic earlier in the day as she appeared before the United Nations about war crimes in Ukraine.

Clooney — who was named one of TIME’s “Women of the Year” for 2022 — stressed that the U.N. needs to hold countries accountable for war crimes as she spoke during an informal meeting of the U.N. Security Council.
“What worries me as I sit here today is that the resolute action we have seen in the first 50 days of this war will turn out to be the high point instead of the starting point of the legal and diplomatic response,” she said, via The Hill.
