While the show ended in 2017, Posey always hoped it would return. In an interview with The New York Post, he said, “I always just knew this show was going to be a success. I just felt it in my bones.” The star also noted that he “knew there was going to be more after it ended.”

Posey also revealed that the news of the reboot didn’t surprise him since he always expected something like that. “Whether it would be a movie or a continuation of the show, I didn’t know. So, I’m not surprised by any of this.” The actor added, “It’s something that I’ve been wanting for years. I was immediately stoked and down for the ride.”

In the show’s fictional Beacon Hills in California, Posey’s character, Scott, protected his town after being bitten by a werewolf. The lead character also got some help from fellow supernaturals like Derek Hale (played by Tyler Hoechlin) and Stiles Stilinski (played by Dylan O’Brien). While Hoechlin will come back for the new film, O’Brien wouldn’t.

In response to whether he was happy about the upcoming film, he said, “I’ve never second-guessed wanting to do it.” He added, “didn’t even think about what my schedule had in front of me. I was like, ‘I’m clearing my entire schedule, and we’re doing this movie.'”

Apart from Posey, other original cast members like Lydia Martin, Malia Tate, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Allison Argent, and Crystal Reed will return for the movie. Colton Haynes is also set to play Jackson Whittemore. Recalling how fun the set used to be, Posey said, “Every day was like this big reunion.

“In between ‘action’ and ‘cut,’ we were hanging out and laughing and reminiscing and crying.”

While some actors will not return, Posey recalled having “the greatest time” with them. He noted how much he tried to get used to Dylan O’Brien’s absence on the set since the fan-favorite actor will not be returning.

Posey told The Post, “He’s as big a part of the show as anybody else, and always will be.” While he’s absent from the movie set, O’Brien is “very much present” in their hearts.

In the movie, the fictional town of Beacon Hills faces an unfamiliar threat, and Scott [Posey] has to stop it. While he is not a teenager anymore, he is still an alpha and needs the help of his friends to defeat the enemy. The 31-year-old, excited to relive some of his teenage years, revealed that he was nervous about playing Scott again.

In the interview, he said, “I was a little nervous to know if I still knew how to play Scott.” While he understood that the character had grown since the last time, playing him on the set wasn’t easy. “I knew in my mind where he’d been, who he is now, but I was wondering if I could play it.”

However, since he built a strong connection with Scott, it was easy to immerse himself in the role again once he started to try. “It was really like riding a bike. It all came back to me. I’m super-proud of the work I did, and I feel like he’s more Scott than he ever was before.”

The “Truth or Dare” actor noted how proud he is of his progress since his last time on the “Teen Wolf” set.

“I’m proud of who I am today. I’m taking care of myself physically, and mentally. I meditate multiple times a day. I try to find peace and joy in everything.” The star also revealed that he is now “sober” and “present in every moment.”

He opened up about how happy he was to bring his newly found peace and wellness to the Scott character. While he is “still the same goofy kid,” there is now more maturity and self-discovery.
