Fans call out Jennie Nguyen for old anti-discrimination video

Just two days after Jennie Nguyen’s controversial social media posts resurfaced, fans are criticizing her anew after discovering an old TikTok video where she preached about “stand[ing] up against discrimination.”

“Are you serious???? Have you seen your Facebook page???” a user commented.

“this did not age well,” another wrote.

“Girl. YOU need to choose love over hate. Don’t tell us what to do. I’m so disappointed in you, I loved you., bye Jennie,” another chimed in.

“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star begins the video – in full glam – saying, “I’m here to stand up against discrimination. It breaks my heart to know my fellow Asian-Americans are facing prejudice.”

Nguyen, 44, continued speaking into the camera while inspirational instrumental music played in the background of the video, dated Feb. 25, 2021.

“It is so important to remember that America is a melting pot made up of ALL different cultural backgrounds,” she said. “Only through positivity and coming together can we win in the long run.”

Nguyen ended her video with the message, “So please stop the hate. And remember to choose love over hate.”

The current backlash against Nguyen began on Wednesday after dozens of controversial social media posts from amidst the peak of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020 resurfaced.

Soon after, fans were calling on Bravo to fire the newbie before Season 3 begins filming. One person even began a Change.org petition titled, “Fire Jennie Nguyen for being a Racist.”

“There is nothing to be addressed, Jennie crossed a line and needs to be fired. Those are Jennie’s beliefs, she is a bad person and she’s not changing,” a fan tweeted.

“Andy [Cohen], Jennie must be fired ASAP! Bravo needs to send a very clear & prompt message here that racism and hatred are unacceptable,” another tweeted.

“This is getting ridiculous. Bravo needs to start vetting these people better. Someone should be going through all these posts before they even consider hiring the person,” another chimed in.

Nguyen apologized for her “deleted Facebook posts” and claimed she thought she was “speaking out against violence.”

Neither Bravo nor Nguyen’s reps have responded to Page Six’s requests for comment.
