“We are thrilled to expand into the pop culture & lifestyle space, adding 7 new, incredibly talented creators to our roster,” the Hocks tell Tubefilter. “These creators represent a new & exciting wave in the Curation Economy, where they have become trusted sources for new content recommendations and critiques in pop culture, film and television.”

Up North’s new signings include:

  • Amanda the Jedi (495K subscribers) a comedic reviewer of movies, TV shows, and books

  • MistaGG (779K) a comedy skit artist and film commentator who specializes in horror films

  • Kennie J.D. (601K), a beauty guru and music artist known for her love of Korean cosmetics, story time videos, and bad movie reaction videos

  • Aaron and Jo (277K), a comedy duo who break down old-time movies and TV shows

  • Friendly Space Ninja (328K), a Canada-based reviewer of current movies and TV shows

  • Broey Deschanel (186K), a video essayist/media analyst who covers everything from pop culture to politics

  • and Natalie Gold (237K), who makes reaction vidoes about TV and film and “describes herself as someone who gets way too invested in stories and characters,” per Up North.

Up North says that together with its roster of gaming creators, these seven “represent the future of digital media, entertainment & culture.”
