‘Bothersome’ New Details In Brian Laundrie’s Death Emerge, Assisted Suicide?

Brian Laundrie’s death continues to unveil disturbing details.

The 23-year-old died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

His remains were discovered in October 2021 and confirmed by dental records. He was discovered in the Carlton Nature Reserve near his parent’s home in North Port, Florida.

Laundrie is responsible for the death of his former fiancé, Gabby Petito. He strangled her to death while they were on a cross-country National Parks road trip tour.

New Theories Surrounding Laundrie’s Death Come To Light

Her body was discovered in September 2021 in a Wyoming State park.

The Blast previously reported on the grizzly details of his death, and now new theories surrounding his death have come to light.

The self-inflicted gunshot wound to the left side of his head caused multiple fractures to his skull, according to the full Florida Medical Examiner’s autopsy report.

Laundrie used a .38 caliber revolver to take his own life and as previously mentioned, he shot himself in the left side of the head.

Jennifer Coffindaffer served 25 years  in the FBI and said she had never seen a case like the Laundire-Petito saga.

Per WFLA, Coffindaffer was startled by the fact that Laundrie shot himself in the left side of the head when the autopsy indicates he “was right hand dominant.”

“That was bothersome,” she said. “Because it does not fit with a right-handed person committing suicide with their off hand.”

In Coffindaffer’s professional opinion, something is off with how he shot himself.

She revealed there are three possibilities for why he would use his non-dominant hand to pull the trigger.

One possible answer could be that Laundrie is ambidextrous.

“Or he used his left hand because he was holding something like a picture in his right hand,” she said.

Was It An Assisted Suicide?!?

Coffindaffer’s third and MOST chilling theory is that it was an assisted suicide.

“I’m not a conspiracy theorist at all but I cannot ignore facts, nor can I ignore statistics,” she said. “And statistics would say a predominantly right-handed person does not commit suicide with their left hand.”

The “assisted suicide” theory definitely has legs for social media sleuths, Coffindaffer suggested.

“To me, the case doesn’t end because it ends with a question mark. How or why did he use his non-dominant hand to shoot himself.”

She also noted that the ONLY way the evidence could be made public is if the trial is a civil trial.

Earlier this month, the Florida Medical Examiner’s Office released new findings into the death of Laundrie.

Per the report, the single bullet entered his head at the left temple and exited through the right, traveling slightly upward.

Authorities recovered “the vast majority of the skeleton.” A few bones were missing from his teeth and face.

The autopsy report found his bones were “gnawed” and “chewed” on from “post-mortem scavenging/carnivore activity.”

Additionally, his bones were “scattered about in plain sight.”

A toxicology report found no drugs in Laundrie’s system at the time of his death.

Other new details from the scene of his death include personal items found along with his skeletal remains.

A pair of green shorts, slip-on shoes, white metal ring, backpack, and a handgun were found on the ground by his body.

The scene was secluded by “overgrown vegetation,” the document said.

Authorities also located a drybag with Laundrie’s journal and a wooden box with a small notebook and a picture of himself.

At the “secondary scene” not far from where his skeletal remains were located, law enforcement found animal skeletal remains, which could be evidence of hunting, a handwritten half note, and a “MOAB Coffee Roasters” hat.

Last month, The Blast reported on Laundrie’s admission to killing Gabby.
