Washington Post Prints Halloween Puff Piece on ‘Non-Binary’ Teenage Witch

The Washington PostPredictably, a piece about a teenage “nonbinary” witch was placed on Sunday’s front page under the headline “Rather than Lie to Me!”Here are the secrets of a teenage witch’s practices:Many young Americans seek spirituality, higher truth and transcendence beyond the institution of scripture.

It is not possible to know what the truth really is PostMichelle Boorstein (religion reporter) was celebrating the discovery of all spiritual abilities by witches in their own lives and through leftist politics. Boorstein praised Viv Bennett, an unsolicited “tawny Austin neighborhood” in praise of her as an example of American youth.

Young Americans in particular They are rewriting mystical language, ancient rituals and creating insta-worthy places. Like Bennett, many other teens discussing witchcraft these days on social media — the hashtag #witchtok on the youth-oriented site TikTok has 19.4 billion views — are looking for a personalized practice that taps into their own spiritual power and identity and feels authentic.

Boorstein tweets “This is probably one of my most interesting stories in religion reporting for 16 years, and it involves a teenager witch.” The truth is that teens today don’t rebel or go against the grain. The teens have access to huge social media trends. Parents are also being open.

Throughout, Viv is identified as “they” and “their,” and even “themself.” In the headline on page one, Bennett says that he is not a woman. They describe TheirSpiritual life is feminist, and it’s meant to empower nonbinary women and people ‘who have ties towards womanhood’

There are also videos. “Shot  Their bedroom, “Lunar Faery Witch” has 1,100 YouTube subscribers following theirVideo explanations about witchcraft. Some of them have been seen more than 1000 times. These are also co-host a podcast that’s been streamed 1,300 times.”

Bennett tends to be nonjudgmental and balanced, although he can take a stance if it touches on disrespect of LGBTQ people or Christian criticism of any other spiritualities.

“Any comments with harassment orIt will be impossible to force Christianity on me,” Bennett wrote on a video discussing a 2019 article in a Christian publication warning about witchcraft.

Bennett focuses mainly on how-to posts and encouraging others, but they do agree with witches who believe the label requires practitioners to speak out politically, even regarding issues relating to the environment or the rights of minorities sexually and gender.

Bennett organized this fundraiser along with several other occultists to benefit Texas women who seek abortions. Texas recently passed a very restrictive law that forces people to get the procedure done outside their home state. Bennett will be presenting lectures and classes for a nominal fee. Proceeds from the event will go to The Lilith Fund.

Boorstein reiterated yet another the “progressive” overtones in tweets that accompanied the article.

Of course, there are the PostStory does not allow for any criticism of this teenager witch. This is true even for teenage followers in Orthodox religions. Christianity may die in the darkness while those who are smitten by “Luciferianism”, get soft-soap.
