WATCH: Judge Jeanine ‘Clearly Drunk’ During Coronavirus Quarantine Broadcast

Some viewers have accused Fox News host Jeanine Pirro of being intoxicated during her live Saturday night show.

Pirro, a former New York state judge and district attorney, apologized for arriving 15 minutes late for the broadcast, citing “technical difficulties.” The host seemed somewhat frazzled and her hair was out of place.

A clip of her discussing a possible rollback on restrictions related to the coronavirus outbreak went viral on social media.

“Just the other day, the president talked — there was hoping about the possibility of reopening everything on Easter Sunday in a way where we could kind of come out of this quarantine, as loose as it may be, that we’re involved in,” Pirro said before bringing on Fox News contributor Lisa Marie to discuss “whether or not that’s even a possibility.”

Liberal commentators led the allegations that the pro-Trump personality was “clearly drunk.”

Vox editor Aaron Rupar tweeted: “OMG. What is Fox News doing putting someone on the air in the condition?”

Liberal blogger Bill Palmer predicted Pirro’s tenure at Fox News could be over.

“Fox News clearly doesn’t have many standards. But this might be a bridge too far even for them,” he said.

However, the network said Pirro had simply been dealing with the challenges of taping the show at her home for the first time.

“Jeanine Pirro was broadcasting from her home for the first time when she encountered several technical difficulties which impacted the quality of her show, including the loss of a teleprompter,”a spokesman told the Daily Mail.

“As we have previously said, we are operating with a reduced staff working remotely to ensure the health and safety of our employees in these unprecedented times.”

Regardless, some on the right celebrated Pirro’s performance.

“I loved [Judge Jeanine] yesterday. I love her even more today,” said right-wing British commentator Katie Hopkins. “Good on you girlfriend xx.”

Judge Jeanine doesn’t need to be drunk to cause controversy

Pirro has lately had a rocky relationship with Fox News. Last March, she was apparently suspended from the network for three week over controversial comments about Muslim congresswoman Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Minnesota Democrat.

During a September radio interview, Pirro was caught on mot mic confirming the suspension and revealing that Fox News keeps a tight leash on her appearances.

President Donald Trump, though, has remained firmly supportive of Pirro. During her suspension, he urged Fox News to “[b]ring back” the host.

Globally nearly 700,000 people have been infected and more than 32,000 have died, according to a Johns Hopkins University tracking website. The U.S. death toll has reached 2,1919, with nearly 125,000 people having tested positive for the disease, the most of any country.
