Earlier today, Marvel Studios surprised us with a new Avengers: Endgame trailer that offers a fair few details about next month’s release. Some of these insights, like the team’s new suits and Captain Marvel’s arrival, are pretty explicit, but as most fans realize by now, unpacking every piece of info that an MCU trailer has to offer is usually a matter of following where the clues take you.
A new piece from ComicBook.com, for instance, seeks to answer the question of where exactly the trailer’s action scenes are taking place, and they make a pretty compelling case that the location in none other than the Avengers Compound. For one thing, much of the new preview unambiguously takes place at the team’s HQ, and seeing how most of the Endgame promotional footage will reportedly be taken from the film’s early scenes, there’s a case to be made that the team won’t have strayed too far from the base.
On top of that, you have the shot of Ant-Man at the HQ with a fiery light spreading across the windows behind him, indicating a possible explosion. In fact, the next time we see Scott Lang in the trailer, he’s shrunk down and navigating the rubble of an office environment, as indicated by the giant pencils and pens he’s jumping over.
Moreover, the footage shows Hawkeye wielding his bow and arrow in some kind of facility, while fellow heroes like Captain America and Nebula are seen fighting amidst a smokey, rubble-strewn landscape that looks very similar to the environment that Ant-Man was moving through. And if you need a little more convincing, the film even has a tie-in LEGO set that shows a battle unfolding on the site of the compound.
Overall, it’s sounding pretty plausible that Avengers: Endgame will be bringing us a battle at the HQ, but we’ll know for sure if the speculation has it right when the film hits theaters on April 26th.
