Winnie Harlow Says “Formula E is unmatched” & Looking Good Doing It
Scott Garfitt/Formula EThe ABB FIA Formula E World Championship revved up in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia this past weekend! Thousands of fans flocked to the historic city to watch the latest generation of electric race cars, the GEN3, take to the track. And in a word to describe it, it was AWESOME!
At the 2023 CORE Diriyah E-Prix, fans were treated to a show-stopping experience, not just on the track, but off it as well! Model and skincare founder Winnie Harlow was in attendance and couldn’t stop raving about the “unmatched experience” at Formula E. The star-studded event also drew the likes of Emily in Paris actor Lucien Laviscount, who was blown away by the innovative GEN3 and the electrifying atmosphere of the race. More on him in a minute.
Famous faces have become a staple at Formula E races in the past, with Idris Elba, Cara Delevingne, and Jaden Smith amongst the many stars who have graced the stands in the past. This year’s event saw performances from John Legend, Martin Garrix, Miguel, and French Montana, only adding to the excitement of the races.
This past race Diriyah Street Circuit, with its twists and turns around the UNESCO World Heritage site, is a favorite amongst all the drivers. However, it’s also one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar, requiring the perfect balance of energy management and pace. So with the low-power LED technology lighting up the circuit that is powered by sustainably-sourced biofuel generators, reducing energy consumption by up to 50 percent, it is without question a very unique experience for so many to enjoy! Scott Garfitt/Formula EActor Lucien Laviscount stepped away from the camera and onto the racetrack for the Formula E World Championship in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. The British actor, known for his roles in “Scream Queens” and “Episodes,” looked super stylish for the big event.
What made him even more stylish was being near and in front of the cars as he spoke on the event and made sure to mention his thoughts on the cars and Formula E saying, “I’m a massive fan of motorsport and anything to do with cars. Seeing the new GEN3 race car on track for the first time was insane. It looks like a fighter jet on wheels and sounds like it’s from a sci-fi movie.”
He even seemed to say he wanted one for himself as he mentioned, “Formula E are leading the world in electric car innovation. I’m in line for an electric vehicle and this has really given me a taste.”
Rumors have been swirling that he might be in line to be the next James Bond, and if that happens, maybe the GEN3 could be the car of choice for Bond on a future mission, only time will tell. But until then, here’s a little more on Formula E.
