Step aside, Kardashians and Hadids: There’s a new street style icon in town, and he’s famous for his fart jokes.

According to Google’s Year in Search report for 2021 — which compiles the year’s top trending searches across categories including news, entertainment, sports and more — Adam Sandler is the A-lister whose getups we truly couldn’t stop Googling.

The comedy king, 55, came out on top in the “celebrity outfits” category this year, ahead of more expected names like Britney Spears (#2), Harry Styles (#6) and Lizzo (#9).

But while the Sandman might not be known for pushing fashion boundaries on red carpets or posting Instagram selfies in head-to-toe designer looks, this placement isn’t entirely surprising, as his everyday outfits regularly manage to make headlines.

Back in April, the “Uncut Gems” actor donned an oversized red North Face hoodie, baggy basketball shorts and sneakers to visit a Long Island IHOP location — only to leave after being told he’d have to wait half an hour for a table, perhaps because his laid-back look didn’t exactly scream “Hollywood heavyweight.”

Then there’s Sandler’s well-documented love of pickup basketball (and artfully schlubby on-court attire). In May, he went viral after showing off his hoop skills in a huge pink polo shirt and supersized Under Armour shorts, to social media’s utter delight.

“[Not gonna lie,] Adam Sandler is a fashion icon? A trailblazer? Dare I say the moment?” one fan tweeted that same month, while another wrote, “People who ‘love’ fashion but insult Adam Sandler….. clearly you don’t have taste.”

His aesthetic is a hit on TikTok too, as a quick search of the term “Sandlercore” will prove. Cool teens, it would seem, couldn’t get enough of the “50 First Dates” funnyman’s signature striped polos, XXL sports shorts and tube socks this summer.

Sandler’s chosen uniform is especially intriguing when you consider his estimated net worth of $420 million; it’s not like the guy couldn’t afford a shopping spree (or 10) at Tom Ford.

But it’s his total disregard for trends and commitment to comfort that makes his look tick. In a sea of famous dudes paying stylists to dress them in identical suits, Sandler always looks exactly like, well, himself.

Now that’s something worth searching for.
