Not only was James able to find love during his time as the series’ lead, his close friend Tyler Cameron, who is also a member of Bachelor Nation, became a big component of James’ journey within the franchise.
Cameron, who was a contestant on Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette,” and James became roommates while in the spotlight, but they had known one another long before reality TV and roses came into the picture; the pals met while in college together!
Recently, however, James and Cameron closed their roommate-related chapter of their friendship after James moved out.
The reason for James’ search for a new abode? The ‘Bachelor’ lead took the leap of moving in with his girlfriend and ‘Bachelor’ winner Rachael Kirkconnell.
What Does Cameron Think Of His Best Friend’s Girl?
Having a new significant other come into the picture can be a monumental moment in a friendship!
We know Cameron and James are longtime best friends, but how well does Kirkconnell fit into the mix?
The answer is kind of hard to pinpoint!
James and Kirkconnell were recently asked by Andy Cohen during a “Watch What Happens Live” interview about the state of their friendship, and, according to People, James revealed the two “Have a love/hate relationship.”
Since the question came up while the trio were playing a game, James didn’t give any further detail about his statement.
So, Is There A Fickle Friendship Between The Duo?
There does not seem to be any evidence of friction between Kirkconnell and Cameron!
Despite the fact James didn’t get the chance to tell viewers more about the friendship between his best pal and his partner, their “love/hate” relationship unlikely has anything to do with James moving in with Kirkconnell.
Cameron spoke about the move to People Magazine two months ago and shared, “Matt’s got a girlfriend now. He’s moving on, growing up, and doing great things with her, and they’re very happy.”
He also added he “Loves” seeing his ex-roommate find a successful relationship and begin a new chapter living in Miami with Kirkconnell.
“I’ve got someone to hang around with,” he continued, referring to a new roommate, “But I’m happy for them. They’re doing their own thing together and they’re extremely happy and I love seeing it.”
Cameron also has had high praise for Kirkconnell in the past. Last Summer, Cameron gave a glowing report of his first meeting with Kirkconnell to Us Weekly.
“She was awesome. She’s a beam of light. I really enjoyed hanging out with her, spending time with her. We had a good time. I think they’re great for each other. They seem like they’re spending a lot of time together, getting comfortable with each other and they’ve come a long way. So if they’re happy, then I’m happy,” he shared at the time.
It seems as if there’s a lot of love between the trio, and if there’s any ‘hate’ between Rachael Kirkconnell and Tyler Cameron, it sounds as if Matt James meant it playfully.
There are plenty of roses to go around for friendship!
