Bijou Phillips called Danny Masterson her ‘life-saving partner’ in letter written before rape sentencing, divorce

Bijou Phillips called Danny Masterson her “life-saving partner” just weeks before filing for divorce from the “That ’70s Show” star.

The actress submitted a letter of defense for her now-estranged husband ahead of his sentencing for his rape conviction, telling the judge that she and their 9-year-old daughter, Fianna, were “heartbroken” by his absence.

“We need him more than you can imagine. I know he has been convicted of serious crimes,” Phillips wrote, “but the man I married has only been an extraordinary husband to me and a devoted father to our daughter.”

The “Raising Hope” star, 43, shared that although Masterson, 47, had been behind bars, he remained a devoted father who called Fianna every day.

“He helps her with homework every night. He teaches her math with kindness and patience,” she wrote.

“She is far above grade level in all subjects, reading three grades above her own, and that is thanks to the guidance and attention of her father.”

Despite the numerous letters of support sent by Phillips, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and more, Masterson received a 30-year-to-life prison sentence earlier this month for raping two women in 2003.

The former model filed for divorce from the disgraced “Ranch” star Monday after nearly 12 years of marriage — and unwavering support for him throughout his trials.

Phillips listed the date of separation as “TBD” and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

“Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time,” her attorney told TMZ Tuesday. “Her priority remains with her daughter.”

Masterson’s lawyer didn’t return Page Six’s request for comment.

The “Almost Famous” actress’ shocking decision to divorce came after reports that she had no desire to split from her husband.

“She will be by his side for it all.”

Phillips appeared with Masterson at every court appearance, including his sentencing. He has maintained his innocence, and his attorney plans to appeal.
