Billie Eilish, Hailey Bieber, 150+ Celebs Say ‘Bans Off Our Bodies’ For Roe

The constitutional right to abortion is likely to fall in the coming month, and women all over the US are going up in arms, figuratively, over the unfairness of it all. Just like Billie Eilish, Hailey Bieber, and more. If Supreme Court decides to overturn the landmark 1973 judgment of Roe Vs. Wade, abortion is “certain or likely” to be banned in 26 states, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a research group that supports abortion rights.

And this is why more than 150 young artists and influencers have spoken out against the Supreme Court’s likely decision with a full-page ad in The New York Times.

150+ Celebs Join Hands To Oppose The Move

Planned Parenthood, the star-studded group that advocates for reproductive rights took out a full-page ad in The New York Times on Friday to oppose the draft opinion overturning Roe vs. Wade leaked last week from the Court’s five conservative Justices.

In the ad, a group of 150+ young singers, actors, artists, and influencers have come together to condemn the decision.

The ad is part of Planned Parenthood’s #BansOffOurBodies campaign, which has made the declaration: “our bodies are our own — if they are not, we cannot be truly free or equal.”

The 150 or more artists that have joined the petition are declaring their support for abortion rights and urging their fans to join them. As part of the campaign, Planned Parenthood has also organized a May 14 Bans Off Our Bodies Day of Action with protests planned across the country in support of abortion rights.

Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Celebrities Are Speaking Up

There are plenty of A-listers in the celebrity group who stand with Planned Parenthood and its stand of pro-abortion. These include Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, Camilla Cabello, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Olivia Rodrigo, Megan Thee Stallion, Halsey, Hailey Bieber, and even Shawn Mendes.

Rodrigo recently paused a live concert to speak out on abortion rights, saying: “Our bodies should never be in the hands of politicians. I hope we can raise our voices to protect our right to have a safe abortion, which is a right that so many people before us have worked so hard to get.”

Billie Eilish also made a statement to Variety, “It’s so unbelievable. It makes me, like, red. It makes my ears f**king steam out of my head. Women should say, should do, and feel and be exactly what they want. There should be nobody else telling them how to live their life, how to do s**t. It just makes me so mad that if I start talking about it, I won’t stop. Men should not make women’s choices — that’s all I have to say.”

More Celebs Join In The Rallying Cry

Jennifer Lawrence is pro abortion and women's rightsMEGA

More names include Kendall Jenner, Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart, Madelaine Petsch, Karlie Kloss, Ariana DeBose, Madelyn Cline, Madison Beer, Phoebe Bridgers, Joey King, Peyton List, Lauren Jauregui, Jenna Ortega, Storm Reid, Tinashe, Meghan Trainor, Tommy Dorfman, Melanie Martinez, Liza Koshy, Maia Mitchell, Hailee Steinfeld, Dove Cameron, FINNEAS, Hayley Kiyoko and plenty more.

Plenty of other celebs like Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence have spoken up before on the same as well.

Schumer also made a statement at a rally, “The Supreme Court is going in the wrong direction. Women want more rights, more access to abortion, more freedom, not less.”

And she got plenty of support, “I’m from Australia, where we have free medical/hospital, including access to abortions. I’m so upset for the women in the USA. I stand with ALL women to receive this basic human right; choice over their own bodies.

And, “My sense of this latest abhorrent event… This is not about abortion… it is about the authoritarian rule, power, old guard rule, far-right control. This is not democracy… it signals the end of democracy unless the silent majority acts.”

Another Instagram user also had the ultimate comment to offer, “Republicans who read: Handmaid’s Tale is a dystopian nightmare, not an instruction manual.”
