Two months after welcoming their second baby Eloise, the “Guardians Of The Galaxy” star couldn’t help but gush about his wife, adding that she was “doing fantastic” since becoming a mother of two.
“She’s a great mom,” Pratt told E! News at ComicCon in San Diego on July 23. “She astounds me. She’s incredible.” The “Jurassic World” star also applauded his wife for being the backbone of their family, saying, “Katherine just has the most amazing maternal instincts.”
The couple– who tied the nuptial knot in 2019 after dating for a year– also share another daughter, Lyla Maria– who will be turning two in August. While Pratt has never been shy to gush about his wife publicly, this got him into a messy controversy.
The actor shared a picture of his wife and added a caption that praised her for everything she’s given him, including a “healthy daughter.” Many social media users were offended by his caption and felt it was disrespectful to Anna Faris, his ex-wife, who gave birth to their 10-year-old son prematurely and with cerebral hemorrhaging.

MEGAThe actor later clarified his tweet, explaining that he had no negative connotation behind the tweet. He also confessed that the backlash he got “f–king bothered” him.
“I said something like, ‘Find someone who looks at you the way my wife looks at me.’ he reminisced in a Men’s Health magazine interview.
“And then I gave her some s–t in the thing and said, ‘But I love you. I’m so thankful for my wife—she gave me a beautiful, healthy daughter.’ And then a bunch of articles came out and said, ‘That’s so cringeworthy. I can’t believe Chris Pratt would thank her for a healthy daughter when his first child was born prematurely. That’s such a dig at his ex-wife.'”
He continued, “My son’s gonna read that one day. I cried about it. I hate that these blessings in my life are a real burden to the people close to me.”

“My two other marriages were with actors, and I don’t think we did a great job of eliminating competitiveness,” Faris said. “Or at least I didn’t, being a proud person and not wanting to reveal vulnerability. Any hint of competitiveness and comparison, I didn’t handle that very well, I don’t think.”

The newborn, named Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt, was born on May 21. “We are so excited to announce the birth of our second daughter,” the pair shared on Instagram on May 22. “Mama and baby are doing well. We feel beyond blessed and grateful. Love, Katherine and Chris.”
Pratt had previously disclosed that they were expecting their second child last month. Schwarzenegger was also spotted with a baby bump while out and about in Los Angeles. While the pair have posted adorable pictures of their older children in the past, they have tried to protect their privacy by not showing their faces.
“I think one of the greatest gifts that my parents ever gave my siblings and me is the gift of privacy and having a normal upbringing,” Katherine said in Today, “or as normal of an upbringing as possible.”
