Margaret Qualley and FKA twigs recently engaged in a verbal altercation that left both of them feeling upset. The two looked to have stumbled into one other by chance at the Bel-Air Hotel in Los Angeles, where the incident allegedly took place, according to Page Six.

According to sources, it’s unclear who approached who at the upscale establishment, but the pair engaged in a heated disagreement in front of the other hotel guests, who were left startled by the commotion the argument was causing.

An insider also informed the publication that Qualley’s fiancé, singer Antonoff of the band Bleachers, defended her and got involved in the dispute, further intensifying the commotion they were already making at the location.

No details were provided on whether the dispute had police involvement. However, the prevailing assumption was that hotel employees intervened to put an end to the argument between Qualley and FKA twigs before it worsened.

The Reason Behind The Confrontation

Page Six also reported that FKA twigs and Qualley’s confrontation might have been spurred by the “Stars At Noon” actress’s decision not to testify in a court case that the English singer had filed against actor Shia LaBeouf, with whom they had briefly dated.

FKA twigs sued the 36-year-old, charging him with assault, sexual battery, and inflicting mental trauma on her when they were dating from the middle of 2018 until the beginning of 2019. Before seeking redress in court, she initially revealed the bombshell accusations in an interview with Elle magazine in September 2021.

Sources mentioned that FKA Twigs and Qualley had many talks in the DMS at the time the interview article was published online. It’s uncertain what they may have spoken about, but it appears that FKA Twigs had hoped to include Qualley in her legal battle but was ultimately let down.

Qualley supported FKA Twigs online when the Elle article was published, despite her refusal to participate in the legal dispute. At the time, the actress shared a photo of the piece’s cover on social media with the phrase “Thank You.”

In January 2021, Qualley, who got involved with LaBeouf after he had moved on from FKA Twigs, ended their relationship. According to a source who spoke with People, their separation was caused by the fact that “they were just in different places in their life,” adding that the actress was focusing on her career.

The same source did not mention whether the allegations that LaBeouf assaulted FKA Twigs contributed to the separation. Since then, Qualley has not explicitly said if she was assaulted at any point while dating the actor.

LaBeouf, who appeared to be at the core of the argument, admitted that he was abusive to others around him but refuted FKA Twigs’s exact allegations of sexual violence and assault.

“I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel. I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations,” he told the New York Times in an email (via Page Six.)

“I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”

On April 17, 2023, the legal battle between LaBeouf and FKA Twigs will get underway in Los Angeles. In the meantime, the “Transformers” actor has suffered severe backlash since the claim first appeared in the media.
