Iconic Disney Character Confirmed For New Tiana-Themed Ride

Just a few days ago, Disney announced that music legends and New Orleans natives PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard will produce the music for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the new attraction coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland in late 2024, which will be inspired by the 2009 Disney animated film “The Princess and the Frog.”

Now, Disney is giving a first look at one of the main characters that is set to be a part of this new attraction.

Disney took to social media to share the concept art for one of the new animatronics for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The company previously confirmed over 17 new characters will be joining the new ride, but now we have a first look at one specific character — Prince Naveen’s brother!

Prince Naveen ended up marrying Tiana at the end of the 2009 movie, and then the two celebrated by having a big party at Tiana’s new restaurant. At the party, Tiana’s close friend, Charlotte La Bouff, was dancing with Naveen’s little brother, to which she asked how old he was. “I’m six and a half,” Ralphie says, to which Charlotte hilariously responds with, “Well, I’ve waited this long,” in regard to marrying royalty.

Now we know that Prince Ralphie, Naveen’s little brother, will be part of the new ride! “✨ICYMI✨ @WaltDisneyImagineering revealed new details about the music and Audio-Animatronics characters in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure including a first look at Prince Naveen’s brother, Ralphie,” Disney shared.

Fans are ecstatic that Ralphie will be part of the new ride as many commented things such as “Ok ok ok! We love new animatronics!” and “I’m even MORE excited now!!”

Disney first shared an image of Ralphie when discussing the New Orleans-roots that will be brought into the attraction, including the music. “The music will borrow from several musical styles that either originated or took up permanent residence in New Orleans,” Disney shared. “Some of our brand-new Audio-Animatronics figures will bring the invigorating sounds of New Orleans to life. Take this new rendering of Prince Naveen’s brother, Ralphie, for example. It’s a scene you commonly see in New Orleans: the joie de vivre influencing his every movement as he jams to the beat of his songful soul. Or this band of friendly critters playing joyful Zydeco-style music.”

The company has also confirmed Mama Odie will be part of the new attraction as she was shared in an art rendering earlier this year. Fans will also see other beloved characters from the film, including Tiana’s mother, Eudora, her husband, Prince Naveen, and the lovable alligator, Louis.

A new original song composed by PJ Morton and “new renditions of fan favorite music from the Walt Disney Animation Studios hit film, ‘The Princess and the Frog’” will also be coming to the attraction.

Terence Blanchard is working alongside PJ Morton on the new music, who fans may actually recognize as he played Louis the Alligator’s trumpet parts in “The Princess and the Frog.”

The new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, will open at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California sometime in 2024.
