Jaclyn Hill penned an emotional note to her late ex-husband, Jon Hill, on Friday, calling the dummer “the most kind & compassionate person” she’s ever known.
“I can’t believe this day has actually come. I am so out of my mind right now, I don’t know how I’m even going to type this. But I’m going to try,” the 32-year-old wrote on Instagram, just two days after his death.
She continued, “Jon, you were the most kind & compassionate person I’ve ever known. You looked people in the eyes & you truly listened & cared about what they had to say. You had so much talent you didn’t even know what to do with it. You turned your pain into art & touched so many people with your honesty in your music.”
Jon died at the age of 33 on Wednesday. YouTubeThe Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics founder then spoke about the 33-year-old’s humor and ability to make people laugh — something she “will forever miss” about the musician.
“I know we ended our marriage but we never stopped loving & caring for each other. All I ever wanted was for you to find your happiness & be free from your struggles. My heart is broken knowing that you are gone but my spirit knows that you are finally free.”
She concluded the post saying she will carry their “memories & inside jokes” with her forever, adding, “Rest peacefully. Love, Twix.”

“It is with profound remorse and sorrow that we must report that our beloved Andrew Jonathan Hill passed away on Aug. 10, 2022,” the statement read.
“We are all devastated by the sudden tragedy. The Hill family request privacy during this overtly difficult time. VR, Hill Family.”

Jaclyn and Jon tied the knot in 2009 but divorced nine years later.
In a 2019 interview with Billboard, Jon revealed his struggle with drug addiction as the reason for their split.
“During our third year of marriage, it got to a point where I was having seizures because I was on so much stuff,” he told the outlet at the time. “I started breaking out in hives. So it became noticeable that something was wrong.”

The musician said less than “two months” after their divorce he was “back on drugs.”
Although the rocker said he was sober at the time of the interview, his health seemingly declined shortly afterwards.
Last month, Jaclyn told fans that Jon “has not been doing well for a very long time. He hasn’t had a phone in months & no one has contact with him.”
