Jacob Elordi Admits He Always Feels Weird Filming Nude Scenes On ‘Euphoria’

Euphoria” seems to be all people have spoken about on social media for the last few months. The HBO series, which follows the lives of a group of high school kids as they navigate drugs, love, and their personal dramas, recently concluded its second season, and it was pretty much a huge success.

One of the show’s stars, Jacob Elordi, who plays the role of Nate Jacobs, recently opened up about his character and his experience filming for the show, particularly his several nude scenes. Read on to find out more about what he said.

He Said He’s Comfortable Shooting Nude Scenes

Elordi recently featured on an episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, where he spoke about what it’s like to be Nate Jacobs in Euphoria. When asked to describe his character by host Ellen DeGeneres, he said Nate is a “sweet, lovable, relatable, giant, 18-year-old psychopath.”

He also opened about his experience with his nude scenes on the show and how he felt during the shooting of these scenes. The 24-year-old Australian actor revealed that he’s quite comfortable shooting any of his nude scenes.

When they discussed how Nate has many nude or semi-nude scenes, Elordi explained that he doesn’t really have a choice when it comes to that because it kind of “comes with the territory of the character.”

The “The Kissing Booth” actor said, “He’s this ultra-masculine, macho jock. Those guys, I think, tend to go around pretty shirtless, so it’s sort of OK.” With Nate’s sexual and romantic connections with several of the female characters, it’s no surprise that he has so many nude scenes.

Elordi Said The Intimacy Coordinator Was Helpful

Elordi explained that a lot of his comfort during the shooting of his nude scenes comes from the show’s intimacy coordinator. He said, “We have an intimacy coordinator … She’s like a second mother. She’s like, ‘Are you comfortable? Are you OK?’ To the point where you’re like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m fine.’ “

He also said that it was the same crew from the first season in the second season, which made it much easier for him to shoot nude scenes because they’ve all seen it before.

He said, “It’s like getting naked in front of your family, which is weird. It’s always weird.” Nate isn’t the only character with many nude scenes as there is also Cal Jacobs and Cassie (played by Sydney Sweeney.)

Nate’s family drama reached its peak in season two when his father, Cal Jacobs (played by Eric Dane), confronted his family, spilled several secrets about his wife and sons, and moved out of their home.

It concluded in the finale episode when Nate tracked his father down to the warehouse he was living in, expressed all the pent-up hate and anger he had felt since he was a child, and watched as the police arrested his father.

Dane spoke to Entertainment Tonight alongside other cast members and said, “I think that his biggest regret is that he failed miserably with his son. I do think Cal’s going to get the opportunity to become a better parent. And I think that’s what Nate wants. He wants a father.”

With how things ended in season two for several characters, including Nate, it is very unclear to fans how season three with proceed and how they will meet their favorite characters.

During the Entertainment Tonight interview, the cast members also admitted that their storylines in season two were quite different from what they expected, so they’re all open-minded about what the third season will bring.

Elordi shared that he wouldn’t be surprised if the next season veered off onto a new path. He said, “Given the change in the second season, I’d imagine season 3 would just be a complete shock again. It could just be like a completely new show again.”
