Jamie Foxx was honored at the African American Film Critics Association Awards Sunday night — nearly one year after his health scare.
The Oscar-winning actor, 56, beamed from ear to ear as he picked up the Producers Award at the star-studded ceremony.
The actor was also honored for his company Foxxhole Productions at a luncheon held at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.

He and Datari Turner were then handed the gong by the trio up onstage. The award acknowledged Foxx’s production company’s continued efforts to showcase inclusive narratives.
The award ceremony came nearly a year after Foxx was hospitalized following a mysterious “medical complication.”
The actor was filming his action-comedy “Back in Action” alongside Cameron Diaz at the time of the health scare.

Finally, on July 22, 2023, following several positive updates from people in his life, Foxx returned to Instagram to discuss his condition.
While he declined to share exactly what happened to him, he assured he was never blind or paralyzed, as some had theorized.

“I went through something I thought I would never, ever go through,” he explained. “I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that, man.”
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie or a television show.”
