The moniker was not just off the top of the parent’s heads but was chosen due to the poignant meaning behind it.

“The Real” co-host said she thought the baby’s name should start with J just like her and her partner, but the name did not come to them.

Mai recalled how her son’s title came into fruition when she and her husband were dating. This happened during a romantic getaway to Monaco, France.

On this trip, Jeezy and Mai talked about their plans and “established what was going on for us.” The new mom also gave a tour of her baby’s lovely neutral-colored nursery.

Mai pointed to Monaco’s name printed on a wall and explained that the nursery was also tailored to resemble the moniker. The TV personality said:

“That’s really the theme of the nursery: what Monaco is about. Family, moments, traveling, discussions, important key points in my life and Jeezy’s life that brought Monaco here.”

Adrienne Bailon also gave an insight into the newborn’s title when she announced it on Thursday’s episode of “The Real.”

The co-host gushed that three years ago, Jeezy and Jeannie talked on a bridge in France about what it meant to “do life together.”

Bailon concluded that the lovebirds decided to raise a family. They named their child Monaco Mia Jenkins after the city that changed their lives forever.

Mai and Jeezy—who have three kids from a prior relationship—bonded about their disinterest in expanding their family, but things changed in Monaco.

The Blast revealed that on January 11, the “How Do I Look” star announced the birth of her first child with a touching Instagram photo.

The image showed Monaco’s hospital crib that housed a blanket with a footprint pattern alongside a name tag with “Baby Jenkins.’ Mai wrote:

“I asked God for a life of love and happiness. He sent me my family. Baby Jenkins is here.”

Fans and celebrities showered congratulations, prayers, and well-wishes under the post, including Tamera Mowry, Nischelle Turner, and Cynthia Bailey.

Mia and Jeezy announced their pregnancy in September. The new mom also made a heartbreaking revelation that she had previously suffered a miscarriage.

In December, the “SteamPunk’d” star held a glamorous Winter Wonderland-themed baby shower and gave fans a peek into the event on social media.

Mai was sexually assaulted by a family member during her childhood and confessed that she fears for her child’s safety despite her excitement to be a mother.

The mama bear admitted it still scares me whether or not I can keep a kid safe from someone else who might hurt them.

“The Real” Co-Host Avoided Motherhood Due To Past Trauma

Mai is nothing short of a superwoman and super mom who used her pregnancy period as a means of talking about her traumatic past with the public.

The Blast disclosed that the style expert explained why she never wanted to have children on an episode of her “Hello Hunnay” YouTube show.

Mai’s experience of finding out she was expecting was both exciting and frightening, but she focused on working through her trauma to raise a healthy baby.

Mai confirmed that a family member assaulted her, and her mother’s disbelief about the situation made them estranged for eight years.

The 42-year-old showed that she had a heart of gold when she forgave her mother, as seen on an episode of her YouTube series titled, “Why I Didn’t Talk To My Mom For Eight Years.”

Mai credited her decision to have a child to the love she experienced with “The Recession 2” rapper. She praised him for helping her realize why women choose to have children, adding:

“I’m so thankful because I’ve never felt this ready. I’ve been through so much, and I’ve survived and I’m shining. My heart is ready. I was meant to be a mom.”
