A month after Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard shared the news of their rainbow pregnancy, the couple is sharing the news of the unborn child’s sex.
Jill and Derick did a gender reveal with a post on their family blog alongside some heartwarming photos.
Jill Duggar And Derick Dillard Are Having A Boy
In a blog post shared on the Dillard Family website, Jill and Derick broke the good news, writing, “We had originally planned on finding out our baby’s gender earlier, a couple weeks ago, but Covid hit our family and we had to delay the exciting revelation. However, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise.”
Instagram | Derick DillardThe pair explained that the postponed gender reveal coincided with their older son Israel’s spring break, and as a result, they could be together for the appointment, “as we all found out together that another little boy would be joining the Dillard tribe!”
Before getting the good news, The soon-to-be parents and their two sons, Samuel and Israel, had a little morning ritual. First, they started the special day by eating breakfast together as a family at a local restaurant called the Buttered Biscuit.
Afterward, they did a little shopping and then headed to the hospital for their appointment. Jill and Derick concluded the good news, “We are thankful to have a healthy baby boy due in July! Your continued prayers are much appreciated.”
Alongside the lengthy post, the excited parents shared several heartwarming pictures celebrating the good news. The lovebirds were seen staring deeply into each other’s eyes as they held a onesie with a print that read, “it’s a boy.”
Elated big brothers Samuel and Israel also featured in the photoshoot, holding the white onesie. The 7-year-old donned a shirt with the print “Big” while the 5-year-old rocked the print ‘Middle.”
The final picture shared saw the whole family holding a blue “baby” balloon. The amazing images were shared on Instagram to the delight of fans, with Jill and Derick sharing their desire to turn their house into a trampoline park.
Congratulations rang in the comments section from fans who were thrilled for the couple.
A Lovely Rainbow Baby For The Dillards
As The Blast previously reported, Jill and Derick broke the news of their second pregnancy in late February.
In a similar fashion, the couple took to the family blog to share the happy news via a statement that read, “We’ve been keeping a little secret! Ever since we were devastated last fall by the miscarriage of our sweet baby, River Bliss, we have prayed that, if it was God’s will, he would bless us with another baby.”
The pair then disclosed that their “rainbow baby” was due July 2022. They concluded, “We are so thankful for a healthy baby and pregnancy so far and we look forward to finding out the gender soon!”
The news was greatly celebrated by fans who comforted the couple when they suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage in 2021.
A Devastating Miscarriage
Before the amazing news of a third child, Jill and Derick suffered a miscarriage in 2021. The sad news was broken in October 2021 via an emotional update on their blog titled “Happiness Turns to Heartbreak.”
” We recently found out that we were expecting our third baby. We were all thrilled! It was fun to see so much joy in the boys’ faces as we shared the news with them. They were full of questions and so excited as we talked about the pregnancy and how they would get to be involved along the way and after baby was born. However, a few days later we started miscarrying,” the heartbroken couple wrote.
Jill and Derick shared that despite not knowing the sex of their late child, they picked a name to “encompass” its life: River Bliss Dillard.
They explained the meaning behind each name, with River representing “tranquil,” and taking expression from a bible passage. Bliss, on the other hand, was chosen because “our baby is living in perfect bliss with the Lord.”
